Berryman, Cummins and O*Neil; County Controller Stuart also present. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the construction of Van Voorhis Bridge, Pigeon Creek -#3, in Monongahela City and Carroll Tov+mship, be awarded to Ed- ward Kean, 4923 Rosetta St., Pittsburgh, Pa., at his bid price of $9,562.50 submitted under date of February 20, 1942, in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller. Motion carri- ed, with the County Controller present at the time of the awarding of this contract, he being hereby duly authorized to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the construction of FoxBIidge, Pigeon Creek +130 Fallowfield Township, be awarded to Charles Balazick, Jefferson, Pa., at his bid price of $7,145o52 submitted under date of February 20, 1942, in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller. Motion carried, with the County Controller present at the time of the awarding of this contract, he being hereby duly authorized to return the certified cheokssof the ,unsuccessful bidders. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 99 WNRG PRINTING LG /<.f26 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the construction of the Porter Bridges, Ten Mile Creek 7F6 and #7, Plum Run, Deemston Borough, be awarded to Roy Ee Furman, Waynesburg, Pa., at his bid price of $8,044.68 submitted under date of February 20, 1942, in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller. Motion carried, with the County Controller present at the time of the awarding of this contract, he being hereby duly authorized to return the certified checks of the unsuccessful bidders. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the construction work on the Porter Bridges, Ten Milk Creek #6 and #7, shall begin on April 15, 1942, and the construction work on Van Voorhis Bridge, Pigeon Creek #3 and Fox Bridge, Pigeon Creek #13, shall begin on Juiie 1, 1942, the firms to whom the (respective contracts were awarded to be so notified. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Agreement executed on March 19, 1942, between Washington County and Frank Zanetta, Granville, Pa., covering the laying of a one - inch diameter pipe line for the purpose of carrying water across the county road in East Pike Run from Coal Center to Centerville Borough, for a distance of fifty feet, more or less, Motion carrie#9, I Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Agreement executed this day betwee� Washington County and the Equitable Gas Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., covering the laying of a 1 3/4 inch diameter gas line for the propose of carrying gas across and under the county road in North i Strabane Township, from. Canonsburg to Thomas Station, for a distance of 40 feet, more or less, as I per plan submitted. Lotion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that H. Be Crumrine, of the County Engineering Department, be named as Coordinator for Washington County under the proposed Public Work Reserve Program in accord- ance with the suggestion of Ee Kay Hunter, State Director, Public Work Reserve, Philadelphia, Pa., that a coordinator be designated for Washington County in order to facilitate matters in connection with necessary contacts to be made incidental to the proposed program in Washington County, Motion carried, and Mr. Hunter to be advised of this action of the Board* Notion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr, O'Neil, that Louis Le Comer, 51 Oakwood Avenue, Washing- ton, Pennsylvania, be appointed as a Member of the Washington County Housing Authority to fill the unexpired term of Joseph Fe Antoon who recently resigned to enter the United States armed forces, the appointment of Mr. Comer to be effective as of this date until January 5, 1947e Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk directed to forward certified copies of the minutes of this meeting to the United States Housing Authority, New York City, the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg, Pa., and to Re We Knox, Chairman of the Washington County Housing Authority, as well as to notify Mr. Comer, by letter, of his appointment to the said Authority There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
