O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS 1 1 E NO. 283 I Burch 26, 1942. A joint meeting of the County Commissioners of Washington and Greene Counties was held in Clarksville Borough, Greene County, Pennsylvania, at 2:00 P*M*, at the location of the Taylor Bridge over Ten Mile Creeks which bridge is jointly owned by Greene and Washington Counties, to determine the action to be taken in regard to continuing this location as the site of an inter - county bridge, the steel superstructure having been destroyed by flood waters June 4, 1941. The following Commissioners were in attendance representing Washington County: Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; representing Greene County were Messrs. Woods, Taylor and Carter, Mr. Woods being appointed as Chairman of the joint meeting. After a full discussion as to the requirement of the bridge in question to accommodate the travelling public and as to the availability of other roads and bridges in the immediate vicinity, the Chaitman called for a motion to abandon the bridge site. Motion was made by Mr. Berryman, seconded by Mr. Taylor, that the Taylor Bridge site, lead- ing from a road in Clarksville Borough, Greene County, over Ten Mile Creek, to an unimproved road in East Bethlehem Township, Washington County, be abandoned as a location for an inter -county '- bridge and that this matter be presented to the next Grand Jury in each county for approval. Motion carried unanimously. In connection with the disposal of the steel which was salvaged from: the old bridge, a motion was made by Mr. Berryman, seconded by Mr. Carter, that the Greene County Commissioners sell this material at the earliest possible date and that the proceeds of the sale be placed Is the joint account of the two counties. Motion unanimously carried. After further discussion, it was agreed that the existing stone abuttIents should remain in place until the Grand Jury in each county can act upon the petition for abandoment of the bridge site, and that if the petition is approved, the stone shall be *he property of the county in which it is situated, and may be disposed of in a manner satisfactory to the Commissioners of that county* The preparation of a survey and plan to be used in connection with the abandonment proceed- ings was delegated to the Washington County Engineering Department.
