O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS NOe 284 Office of the County Commissioners, - Washington, Pa., March 27, 1942, Joint meeting of the County Commissioners and County Controller for the purpose of opeting bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for the necessary ballots and election supplies for use at the Primary to be held May 19, 1942; present for County Commissioners, Messrs* Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil; County Controller Stuart present* In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners: MONONGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY, Monongahela, Pa. and WARD PRINTING COMPANY, 'Washington, Pai 100#000 Official Ballots and 25,000 Official Specimen Ballots for the sum of $3,485*00 and the necessary Candidates' Specimen Ballots for the additional sum of $15.00 per thousand, all for use at the Primary Election to be held May 19, 1942. JOHNSTON COMPANY, Pittsburgh, Pa* 188 Boxes Primary Election Supplies with the names of county -wide candidates printed on return sheets, tally papers; the necessary computing books with name of oounty-wide candidates printed therein; and each box to contain a revised editi6n of "The Voter's Guide"; for the sum of $858.62. Motion by Mr* Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for 100,000 Official Ballots and 25,000 Official Specimen Ballots for use at the Primary to be held May 19, 1942, be awarded jointly to the Monongahela Publishing Company, Monongahela, Pa., and the Ward. Printing Company, Washington, Pa., at their bid price of $5,485*00, as well as the necessary Candidates' Specimen Ballots for the additional sum of $15.00 per thousand, Motion carried, with County Controller Stuart present at the time of this faction in the awarding of the foregoing contract* Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the necessary election I s supplies for use of election officers at the Primary Election to be held May 19, 1942, be awarded to the William G. Johnston Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., at their bid price of $832*62* Motion carried, I with Controller Stuart present when this action was taken. In connection with the delivery of the ballot boxes and election supplies for use at the cominb; i primary, the bid of T. M. Bedillion, R* D* 1#4, Washington, Pa*, was presented for such delivery for s the sum of $275*00* Motion was made by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract be awarded to T* Me Bedillion for the delivery of the ballot boxes and election supplies at his bid price of $275.00* Motion carried, j There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned* i THE FOREGOING MINUTES READ AND APPROVED: March 30, 1942 i { ATTEST: ji------------- i
