I The County Commissioners, sitting as the Registration Commission of Washington County, met in I regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and OtNeile i Motion by Mr. Gummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Lawrence McCarty, Monongahela, Pa., be j appointed as Chief Clerk in the Registration Office to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of John A.Wright who recently entered the armed forces of the United States, such appointment to be effective April 1, 1942, and continue over the period between that date and the first Monday in January, 1943, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty duyst notice. Motion carried, notation of this appointment to be made on the minutes of the Registration Commissions Upon presentment of a duly executed petition to the County Commissioners, as the County Board of Elections, the Polling Place in the lot Precinct of North Franklin Township was designated as "A room in the residence of Vincent Ruscello, 55 Baltimore Avenue" inasmuch as the former polling place f j is no longer available. Minutes Noe 283 and 284 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said county of a note for Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to -wit: WHEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of Fifty Thousand ($50,000.00') Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1942, and to be payable out of taxers and other current revenues which have been assessed and levied and are to be collected by the county during the year 1942, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the county, the proper of ficia-s of the said county are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by then, payable out of taxes which have been levied and are to be collected during the year 1942, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest,, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor payable August 5, 1942, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one-half (1gl per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Wash- ington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: THE WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa. $50,000.00 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
