O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS NO, 288 Ofoe of the County Commissioners,, Washington, Pa,, April 6, 1942. County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the following Resolution be adopted by the Board, to -wit: WHEREAS, The Board of Commissioners, by resolution dated March 23, 1942, did adopt, -certain specifications as standard for headstones to be erected by them for war veterans in accordance with the Act of May 2, 1999, P,L, 1278, as amended; and YMEREAS, By virtue of the existing emergency requiring the conservation of all materials necessary for the war effort, this Board has decided to discontinue the placing of bronze service markers; now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of Commissioners that the specifications as adopted by the resolution aforesaid be amended so as to include on the said headstone, the proper inscription and insignia to be out in the said headstone to indicate the war in which the deceased veteram has served. Motion carried. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Bale of March 24, 1942, for delinquent county tax for the year 1935, in the name of the J. B. Chambers Estate, Donegal Township, covering property described on the assessment record as "66 acres Surface, Adjacent property of To J, Thompson and Morgan Hoge", such assessment being erroneous inasmuch as no such surface acreage was ever owned by the J. B. Chambers Estate. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of an .Agreement between Washington County and the Pittsburgh Coal Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., convering the construction by the said Pittsburgh Coal Company, of a reinforced concrete pit mouth or underpass, for the purpose of transporting coal under the County road in Robinson Township, Washington County, for a distance of forty feet, more or less. Motion carried.
