O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 1 1 E Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the balance of delinquent taxes for the years 1928-29-30-31-53 in the name of Joe Ruth, Bettleyville Borough, without penalty and interest, such action being taken in cooperation with the Borough and School District of Bentleyville. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the 1928 county tax liened -against Barry L. Foringer in the 7th Ward of the City of Washington, on 30 feet of vacant lot No. 216 in the said ward, without penalty and interest, such action being taken in cooperation with the City and School District of the City of Washington* Motion carried, Motion duly mode and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to correct the desorip- Lion entered on the lien docket in the Treasurer's Office in the name of W. VT. Piper, Fallowfield Township, for the year 1934, for school taxes, against Lot.No. 26, Dawson Plan, erroneously des - Patterson Plan;,the said Lot No. 26 cribed on said docket as Lot No. 26/liawson Plan having been sold by the County Treasurer to James Cheatem, the deed for same having carried the incorrect description and the proper person is here- by authorized to correct said deed to cover Lot No. 26 Dawson Plan, rather than Lot No. 26 Patter- son Plan in the said Fillowfield Township. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the tax sale of April 22, 1940, in the name of Mary Lesko, against Lot No, 64, Plan No. 3, Canonsburg Improve- ment Company, lst Ward, Canonsburg, the description carried in such tax sale being incorrect in that the said Mary Lesko actually owns Lot No. 65 in the said plan, but in order to protect the title to her property, the said Mary Lesko paid the tax under Act No. 17 on July 8, 1941, against the said lot as erroneously described in the tax sale. Motion carried* The Board confirmed the reading of Minutes No. 289-290-291 on Friday, May 1, 1942; there being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. . Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Steve Shook, now employed as,Clerk in the Registration Office, be named as Assistant to the Chief Clerk in that office to replace Gino Amanati who is now in the armed forces cof the United States, such appointment to be effective as of May 1, 1942, and to cover the period from that date until the first Monday in Janusry, 1:,,430 with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried, with no- tation of this appointment to be made on the minutes of the Registration Commission, Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that John Lombardo, now employed as extra help in the Registration Office, be employed regularly in that office to fill the vaeemay caused 13 4 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS by the appintment of the former clerk, Steve Shook, as Assistant to the Chief Clerk in the Registra-• tion Office, such appointment to be effective as of May 1, 1942, and to cover the period from that date until the first Monday in January, 1943, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days j notice. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the amount of 100.00 be made to H. Company, 3rd Infantry, Pennsylvania Reserve Defense Corps, to assist in defraying expenses of the Corps. Motion carried* Motion duly made and seconded that confirmation be given to the action of the Board on May 12, 1942, in changing the Polling Place in the lst Precinct of Cecil Township from the Henderson Supply Company Store to the Community Building, Hendersonville, the former polling place being no longer available. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cumains and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 24, 1940, in the name of J. F. Baker, West Pike Run Township, for the non-jayment of delinquent taxes for the year 1931, in view of the fact that the said property was sold at Sheriff's Sale No. 56 November Terra, 1937, but dine to the erroneous description carried on the assessment records { the said 1951 delinquent taxes were omitted inadvertently when the certification of unpaid taxes I against the said property was made to the Sheriff, and sufficient money was collected to cover the said 1931 taxes had the same been properly certified to the Sheriff.
