CUMMINS, JOHN N. O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS ---------- N0. 276 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., March 9, 1942. Board. of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids for 100,000 Official Ballots, more or less, 25,000 Official Specimen Ballots, more or less, and the , necessary Candidates' Specimen Ballots for use in the Primary Election to be held Tuesday, May 19, 1942; such bids to be received by the County Controller until 11 A.M., E.W.T., Friday, March 27, 19421, I and opened immediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners; each bid must be aacon- pa"ed by a certified check in the amount of $500.00 and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorized to advertise for bids I for supplying tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides, etc., i etc., required for use of election officers at the Primary Election to be held May 190 1942; such supplies to be packed in 188 boxes for use in boroughs, townships and third class cities, as may be found necessary, the bids for which will be received by the County Controller until 11 A.M., EoW#T., Friday, March 27, 1942, and opened i,maaediately thereafter in the Office of the County Commissioners; each bid must be accompanied by a certified check in the amount of $100.00 and the right is reserved to reject any or all bids. Lotion carried. Minute No. 274 was read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. COMMISSIONERS 40 4 G Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the 1941 county tax assessed in the name of Bakewell & Hartman, West Brownsville .Borough, on a compromise basis in the amount of 50% of the face of the said tax to conform to the provisions of a Court Order on delinquent taxes for previous years, such action being taken in cooperation with the i School District and Borough Council of the said Borough. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be `autho ri zed to permit • the re- demption of the property of Logan Stoner in the Borough of Charleroi, sold to Washington County at County Treasurer's Tax Sale, in April, 1940, by the payment of the delinquent county taxes at face, plus costs, but without penalty and interest, such action being taken in cooperation with the School District and Borough Council of the said Borough of Charleroi. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized totaccept the 1952 delinquent county tax liened in the name of Nioholola Pizzica in the 2nd Ward of the City of Monongahela, w,,gi}t, penalty and interest, inasmuch as the payment of this tax was inadvertently omitted when full settlement of other delinquent taxes was made. Motion carried, Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the 1932 delinquent county tax liened in the name of Dianna Taucher in ai.th Township, without penalty and interest, inasmuch as the payment of this tax was inadvertently omitted when full settlement of other delinquent taxes was made. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to accept the 1935 delinquent county tax liened in the name of the Monongahela City Trust Company, in the 2nd Ward of the City of Monongahela, without penalty and interest, inasmuch as the payment of this tax was inadvertently omitted when full settlement of other delinquent taxes on -the said property was made because of the erroneous description carried on the assessment reconid in the year 1935. Motion carried. Minutes No. 275-276 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr, Berryman, that Mrs, Lulu Henry be appointed as Matron at the Juvenile Detention Home, to fill the vacancy daused by the death of Mrs, Minnie Hemphill, former Matron at the Detention Home, such appointment to be effective as of this date, March 16, 1942, to cover the period until the first Monday in January, 1943, with proviso that she may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried.
