Office of the County Commissioners,
Washington, Pa., October 23, 1942.
Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and
O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent because of illness.
Potion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the amount of $100.00 be made to
H. Company, 3rd Infantry, Pennsylvania Reserve Defense Corps to assist in defraying expenses of
the Corps, such appropriation being made in addition to that made in the same amount under date of
May 13, 1942. Motion carried.
! Motion duly made and seconded that an appropariation in the amount of $500.00 be made to the

West Alexander .Agricultural Association, towards defraying expenses In connection with the annual
i fair. Motion carried.
Potion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Tax Sale
of January 24, 1940, held in the name of Harrison Wilkinson, Washington 7th Ward, covering delinquent
? county taxes for the years 1.928-29-30 against property described on the assessment record as "House
and Lot, Henderson Avenue Extension", such sale being void in view of the fact that the above men-
tioned assessment was in duplication for theyears 1928 and 1929, with the assessment of W. H.
Pendleton, the rightful owner of the said property, and in 1930, in duplication with the Assessment
of Daisy Slusser, then the rightful owner, and presently in the name of Frank Junko who now holds
title to the said property. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Cummins and
OtNeil, Mr. Berryman being absent because of illness. Motion duly made and seconded that the
following persons be named as Assistants to the Official Return Board to compute the 'votes east
at the General Election held November 3, 1942:
J. B. Hallam, R. D. #4, Washington, Pa.
Agnes Maxwell, 143 Railroad St., McDonald, Pa.
Katherine K. Flaherty, 55 Highland Avenue, Washington, Fa.
I and that the following named persons, now in the employ of the County in the respective positions set
forth, also be named as Assistants to the Official Re-count Board:
Jos. W. Marne, Veterans' Graves Registrar,
Robert Crawford, Personal Property Clerk,
Frank Gray, Investigator, Juvenile Court.
Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
