O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS i f 1 NO. 318 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., November 9, 1942. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman., Cummins and O'Neil* Motion duly made and seconded that the appointment of Dorothy E. Zelt, ,Assistant to the Official Return Board for the computation of the votes cast at the recent General Election, be confirmed, such appoint/ being made to replace Katherine K, Flaherty who was unable to serge in such capacity because of illness. Motion carried. Minute No. 316 was read and approved by the Board, as well as Minute No. 317 which was ap- proved as amended to cover the appointment of Dorothy E. Zelt on the Official Return Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to accept liened and delinquent taxes without penalty and interest for the years 1934 thm ugh 1939, in the name of Aaron Deregi, Centerville Borough, covering property assessed as "Small House & Irregular Lot Adjacent William H. Binns and Maple Glenna. Plan" inasmuch as the said Aaron. Deregi purchased the said property from William H. Binns, receiving a warranty deed for same, withot;t.,the knowledge of the outstanding delinquent takes. .Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to accept liened and delinquent taxes without penalty and interest for the years 1934 through 1941 in the name of Mrs. Mary Basista, Centerville Borough, covering property assessed as 11.69 Acres Surface, ,Adjacent William Binns" inasmuch as the said Mary Basista purchased the said acreage from. William H. Binns, receiving a warranty deed for same, without the knowledge of the outstand- ing delinquent taxes. Notion carried. On motion duly madeean.d seconded, the following Resolution was adopted: It appearing from the Tax Return Dockets in the Office of the County Treasurer that certain tax claims are indexed in the name of the Piedmont Coal Company for unpaid taxes for the years 1929, 1930, 1936,_1937, 1938, and 1939, levied and assessed against certain tracts of coal situate is Amwell, Morris, North Franklin,South Franklin and Sbuth Strabane TomashiA in which Piedmont Coal Company and Union Trust Company of Pittsburgh, owed undivided interests, which tax claims are shown on list attached hereto (for attached list, see Commissioners' Office file) MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. BERRYMAN, ROSS R. CUMMINS, JOHN N. O'NEIL. COMMISSIONERS 2_99 WARD PRINTING CO 72328 and receipts having been produced showing the payment by the Piedmont Coal Company and the Union Trust Company of Pittsburgh of all taxes against the interests owned by Piedmont Coal Company and Union Trust Company of Pittsburgh, for which the said tax claims were filed, Irene Merlin, Clerk in the Office of the County Corma ssioners, is hereby authorised, empowered and directed to note upon! I the tax Return Docket of each of the tax claims so filed, and for which receipts were produced show- s ing payment of taxes, the following: "This tax lien does not affect the interest of the Piedmont Coal ! Company" or "This tax lien does not affect the interest of the Union Trust Company of Pittsburgh", � i as the case may be; j I And it further appearing that at the Tax Sales held January 24, 1940, and April 26,,1940, certain undivided interests in tracts of opal situate in North Franklin Township, containing 99 aorei and 102 acres, respectively, (which tracts were assessed together for certain years as 201 Beres) 0 were sold, and that following the said T ax Sales the assessment of the undivided 1/4 interest of the Berkshire Coal Company in the said tracts of 102 acres and 99 acres of coal was erroneously removed from the Tax Assessment Records (The Berkshire Coal Company having become the successor in title of the Union Trust Company of Pittsburgh thereto), the County Treasurer be and hereby is authorized to collect the delinquent and unpaid taxes of the Berkshire Coal Company for the years 1941 and 1942 on the undivided 1/4 interest in said tracts, and the proper Clerk is hereby directed to restore to the Assessment Records for the years 1941 and 1942, in which they were omitted in error, the assess - went of the undivided 1/4 interest of the Berkshire Coal Company in the said two tracts, so that such assessment may be continued on the record. Motion carried. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. November 25, 1942 ATTEST: No. 320 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., November 19, 1942.
