O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the following employees in the Regis- tration Office be reappointed for the year 1943, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1943, to the first Monday in January., 1944, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice: Lawrence McCarty, Chief Clerk, Steve Shook, Assistant Chief Clerk, Angela B. Ilarchione, Clerk, Edwin E, Dray,Clerk Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Lula Henry be reappointed as Matron at the Detention Home, and May Osborne as Assistant Matron, for the year 1943, both appointments to cover the period from the first Monday in January, 1943, to the first Monday in January, 1944, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the following employees in the Road and Bridge Department be reappointed for the year 1943, covering the period from the first Monday in January, 1943, to the fi:kst Monday in January, 1944, in the respective capacities set forth below, with proviso that eG_ch may be dismissed upon thirty days' notices G, L. Allman_, laintenance Supt., Roads & Bridges, Corrine Haught, Stenographer, H. B. Crumrine, Chief Draftsmen, Paul J. Pettit, Assistant to Chief Draftsman, Sheridan Sutherland, Foreman., County Garage, John T. Fetcko, Transportation Officer, County Garage Motion carried. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Donald C. Hallam, Washington, Pennsylvania be appointed as Clerk in the Registration Office for the year 1943, much appointment to be effec- tive as of January 16, 1943, and to cover the pwiod from that date until the first Monday in January, 1944, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Lotion carried, with notation of this appointment to be made on the minutes of the Registration Commission, Motion duly made and seconded that the Agreement between Washington County and Newell Frazee, Amwell Township, be executed, covering the quarrying of all stone for the sum of 75.00 from January 2, 1943, to January 2, 1944, on a certain tract of land owned by the said Newell Frazee, and described as a tract of land located on the Lone-Pine-G�-yyde Road in the said township. COMMISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the Agreement executed between Washington County and the Allegheny County Workhouse and Inebriate Assylum for the six months' i period beginning January 1, 1943, and terminating six months from that date whereby the rate of maintenance for Washington County prisoners at said institution is fixed at 53i each per day, with the additional allowance of the sum of $1.50 for transportation of each discharged prisoner to the County Seat. Motion carried. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. THE FGREGOINO MI. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cumins and O'Neil. Motion by Tyr. Berryman, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that James B. Hallam, R. D. #4, Washington, Pa., be appointed as a Member of the Washington County Housing Authority for a five-year period, effective as of January 7, 1943; such appointment being made to replace M. J. Sweeney, Donora, Pa., whose term expired on January 7, 1943. Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk insturcted to certify this action of the Board to the Federal Public Housing Authority, New York City, to the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg, Pa., and to the Washington County Housing Authority, Washington, Pa., as well as to notify Mr. Hallam, by letter, of his appointment to the said Washington County Housing Authority. Motion carried, Motion duly made and seconded that Ruth K. Bannister, Elevator Operator in the Court House, I be granted a ninety -day leave of absence, without salary, effective January 16, 1943.
