Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that the sum of #200.00 be appropriated by Washington County to Company.R. 3rd Regiment, Pennsylvania Reserve Defense Corps, Washington, Pa., towards defraying expenses of the Corps. Lotion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the rate of allowance for maintenance at the Washington County Detention He me, West Beau Street, Washington, Pa., be increased from 50¢ per day to 60� per day per person, effective as of March 1, 1943. Motion carried. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, those present being Messrs. Beriymen, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Cummins, that Mrs. Mary J. Nist, R. D. 0, Washington, Pa., be appointed as Tax Collector in North Franklin Township to complete the unexpired term of Nellie L• Wilson, recently resigned; such action being taken in accordance with petition presented to the Board in compliance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly governing such matters. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the adoption of the following Resolution trader date of April 16, 1943. be confirmeds WHEREAS, The County Commissioners did receive on April 26, 1944, from the County Treasurer, a conveyance of lands hereinafter described which had been advertised and sold for unpaid taxes in accordance with the several Acts of Assembly relating to the sale and conveyance of lands for taxes; and WHEREAS, The said lands have not been redeemed within a period of two years as provided by law; and WHEREAS, Neither the Department of Forests and Waters nor the Game Commissioners has re- corded with the County Commissioners a desire to acquire such lands for State Forests or State Game Lands; now, therefore, IT11NUTE BOOK OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN D. Berryman, Cummins and OtNei1. . The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said county of a note for One Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars as'a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to wit: WBEREAS, It has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One Hundred Thousand (100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1943, to be pslyabae out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and levied, and are to be collected by the county during the year 1943, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVER, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the county, the proper officials of the said county are hereby authorised and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which have been levied and are to be collected during the year 1943, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note there- for payable August 5, 1943. with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one-half (11� per cent* per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: THE WASHINGTON UNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington,Pae, S100,000.00 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. 1 1 1 April 30, 1943 ATTEST: o�n
