CUMMINS, 12 99 WARD PRINTING CG 12329 N0. 365 WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JOHN N. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., August 16, 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and 01Xei1. I Motion duly made and seconded that the following Resolution be adopted, to -wit: WHEREAS, By Act No. 285, approved May 26, 1943, and effective upon the sighting thereof, the i Clerk of Courts is required to make a charge of 13,00 for the filing and recording of a petition i for the appointment of an election officer, and the further sum of $3.00 for the riling and re- cording of the order of appointment and the issuance of a certified copy of the order of appointment; WHEREAS, The County Commissioners, as the County Board of Elections, are charged with the duty of conducting elections and providing for the furnishing of all supplies, etc. in connection there- with, and for that reason are of the opinion that the fees aforesaid should be absorbed by the I County as a part of the election expenses in order that efficient and capable election board personnel might be induced to accept any appointments theretol now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, That the Clerk of Courts be, and he is hereby authorized to charge to the County of Washington any and all fees required to be paid under Act No. 285 for the filing and re- cording of every petition for the appointment of an election officer, and for the filing and re- cording of the order of appointment, and the issuance of any certified copy of said appointment. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of.an Agreement between Washington County and the City of Washington in connection with the operation of a two-way police radio system of 250 Watt capacity for the purpose of giving and receiving service outside of the limits of the city and within. the County of Washington and nearby territory in the interest of police efficiency and for the purpose of protecting the lives and property of the inhabitants, copy of which Agreement shall be filed with the County Controller. Lotion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the Tax Sale of the property of Elizabeth M. Barker, also known as Lizzie M. Barker, of March 24, 1942, covering lots 12 & 35, in the J. D. Sauters Plan of lots in the Borough of McDonald, be, and the same is hereby cancelled for the reason that the said sale was based on a 1935 Borough tax which tax should have been filed with the Sheriff of Washington County -in the execution against the said Elizabeth M. Barker at No. 64 November Term., 1936, in which the said property was sold by the said Sheriff on November 8, 1935, to Marie Amic, the present owner, for a sum sufficient to have paid the tax aforesaid.
