O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of March 24, 1942, in the name of Frank Brown, Chartiers Township, covering delinquent county taxes for the year 1932, against property described as House and hot, Arnold Hollow, in said township, such sale being void in view of the fact that the talc in question had been paid by the said Frank Brown who holds tax reoeipt for the same. Motion carried, Notion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasur- er's Tax Sale of April 25, 1940, in the name of Dinytpo Shubo, Fallowfield Township, covering delinquent taxes against property described as House and 2 Lots, 3 and 7, Van Voorhis, such sale being void in view of the fact that the said delinquent taxes were paid by the said owner who holds receipts for the years in question. Motion carried• Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treas- urer's Tax Sale of January 24, 1940, in the name of David McCartney, Jr., North Strabane Town- ship, covering delinquent county and school taxes for the years 1928 and 1930, against property described as House and Lot, Weavertown, such sale being void in view of the fact that the said assessment was in duplication with the property of the Sara McCartney Estate, the taxes for the years in question having been paid by the said Estate, Motion carried, The Board confirmed the reading of Minutes No. 375-376 under date of November 12, 1943• There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. November 26, 1943. ATTEST; NO. 378 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., November 26, 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Lotion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr, Berryman, that Louis Comer, Canton Township, be appointed as Night Superintendent of the Court House to fill the vacancy caused by the resigna- tion of 'William E. Zediker, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice, such appointment to cover the period from November 16, 1943, to the first Monday in January, 1944. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman., that Colin Swingle be appointed as an Assistant Engineer at the Heating Plant, suoh appointment to be effective as of November 18, 1943, and to cover the period from that date until the first Monday in January, 1944, with proviso that he may be dismissed upon thirty days* notice. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 39 WARD PRINTING CO 72323 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the County of Washington offer at Public Sale the following road machinery, trucks and equipment in the Public Meeting Room of the Court House on Thursday, December 9, 1943, at 11:00 A.Mt 1 - 1937 one and one-half ton COE International Dump Truck 1 - 1935 one and one-half ton Dodge Dump Truck 1 - 1941 one and one-half ton COE Chevrolet Flat Bottom Truck 1 - 1936 ten -ton Huber Gas Roller 1 - Galion Trench Roller 1 - Caterpillar Diesel +10 Tandem Drive Auto Patrol Grader 1 - #711 Good Roads Snow Plow and Lift, complete with front frame I attachments 1 - "V" Type Snow Plow for Caterpillar 10 Diesel Auto Patrol Grader 1 - "Ross" reversible type snow plow, complete with front frame attachments, for 1-i ton truck 1 - Reversible Flow, complete with front frame attachments for 1W ton truck j j The above machinery, trucks and equipment may be inspected at any time prior to the sale by inquiring at the Washington County Garage; terms of sale: 25% at the time the article is sold to the highest bidder, the balance upon delivery of the bill of sale therefor; the right being reserved to reject any or all bids and to continue the sale from time to time if necessary. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that J. Bruce McBride, North Strabane Tomnship, be appointed as a Member of the Washington County Housing Authority to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of G. J. Hanna, such appointment to be for the unexpired portion of the term which originally covered the period from J,_nuary 7, 1941 to January 7, 1944. Motion carried, with the Chief Clerk instructed to certify this action of the Board to the Federal Public Housing Authority, 1 New York City, to the State Board of Housing, Harrisburg, Pa., and to the Washington County Housing Authority, Washington, Pa., as well as to notify Mr. McBride, by letter, of his appointment to the said Washington County Housing Authority. Motion carried, Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel that portion of the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 25, 1940, covering "Vacant Lot No, 4, Terrace Plan" in Monongahela 3rd bard in the name of Alexander and Company, for delinquent takes for the year 1933, such sale being in error insofar as it affects the said lot inasmuch as the said delinquent taxes against the said lot were satisfied on the Prothonotary's Lien Docket by the City Solicitor, J. J. Benedict, under date of April 19, 1940. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 26, 1943, in the name of S. N. (S.W.) Farner, Hanover Townshit;= for 1937 delinquent taxes against property described as "l Acre Land, bounded on the north and east by Flora Freshwater, south by Frank Neely, west by Josephine Neely Property", such sale being in error in view of the fact that the said assessment was in duplication with that of Rosa Huber, the rightful owner, (also known as Rosa Isimin.ger). Motion carried, with the proviso that the assessment records and Treas- urer's Lien Dockets be corrected accordingly for subsequent years. Minute No. 377 was read and approved by the Board.
