O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 1 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the necessary quantities of tax statements for use of the County Treasurer for the year 1943 be awarded to the General Manifold and Printing Company, Franklin, Pa., at its bid of 468,.10. Motion carried, with Deputy Dontroller Dentel present when this action was taken and authorized to return the check of unsuccessful bidder. There being no further,business before the meeting, it was adjourned. March 12, 1943 ATTEST: NO. 343 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., March 11, 1943, Board of County Commissioners in regular session, specially called, members present being Messrs. Berryman., Cummins and OtNeil. The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said county of a note for Fifty Thousand ($5011000.00) Dollars as a temporary loan, was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to -wit: WMREAS, It has became necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of Fifty Thousand (50,000.) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses for the year 1943, and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the year 1943, now, therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said county of Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current expenses of the county, the proper officials of the said county are hereby authorized and directed to negotiate a tempoaary loan on such terms as may be agreed upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collec- ted during the year 1943, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to r epaly said loan, with interest, is hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a note therefor payable August 5, 1943, with interest from date of said note at the rate of one and one-half (1il per cent* per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commozmrealth of Pennsylvania which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to pay, -said note to be negotiated and issued as follows: THE WASHINGTON LNION TRUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa., 50*000.00 There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Fund of the County of Washington for the fiscal year 1943 be finally adopted as advertised by the County Cormlis- I sinners, the said budget having been available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk ' of the County Commissioners from February 19, 1943, to Larch 11, 1943, in a000rdance with the pro- visions of the Act of Assembly of July 18, 1935, and that the rate of taxation upon the valuation I of properties of the County of Washington. in order to raise sufficient re :to meet required expenditures for the fiscal year 1943, be fixed at six (6) mills which make the payment of Maces in the amount of sixty (60,d) cents upon each $100.00 of assessed valuation of read estate and occupation. Motion duly made and seconded that the Agreement be executed between Washington County end The Harrison Construction Company, Agent for the Aluminum Company of Amerioa, acting for and in behalf of Defense Plan'Corporation, covering the piAoing_of a two-inoh diameter water line for the purpose of carrying water under the Canonsburg -Thomas Road in North Strabane Townshp for a distance of fifty feet, more or less* Motion carried, Minute No. 344 was read and approved by the Board, There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Lotion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of the Rplease of Claim under date of March 23, 1943, between Washington County and John MoCoy, covering the finals poyment of the sum of 1140.00 by the County of Washington to the said John LoCoy in connection with the operation of a stone quarry on his farm in Chartiers Township by the County of Washington. Motion carried.
