O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS NO. 352 iii"i`i68 of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., April 30, 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the preparation of a voucher in the amount of $2024*22, payable to B. B. Samuels in correction with appeals pending at Nos. 368 and 369 November Term., 1932, A.D., from the award of the Viewers at Nos* 5 and 6 May Term, 1932, Roads, aftting out of the reconstruction of Route 736, Section 1, in New Eagle Borough. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to accept liened and delinquent tounty taxes for the year 1937 against the property of Mrs. Alice Lutes in East Pike Run Township, without penalty and interest,such action being taken in cooperation with the Town- ship Supervisors and School Directors of the,said township. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that an appropriation in the amount of $600.00 be made to the Washington County Dtfense Council to assist in defraying expenses of the said Counoilp Motion carried. Minutes No. 349-350-351 were read and approved by the Board. Cummins and O'Neil, Mr. Berryman being absent. and In acoorance with petition properly presented, motion was duly made,/seoonded that Peter J• Gallick, R+ D.#1, Monongahela, Pa., be appointed as Tax Collector gor Carroll Township, to fill the unexpired term of Frank Bright, recently resigned. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that Charles Caton, R. D• #60 Washington, Pa., be appointed Assessor in South Franklin Township to fill the unexpired term of Clarence T. Conn, recently re- signed. Motion, -carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the Treasur- er's Tax Sale of Mary 24, 1942, in the name of Julia Rosko, Cecil Township., covering 1936 Road Tax on property described as "House and 5 A. Surface, 34 A. Surface, adjacent Elsie Clifford, 2 lots Borland Brothers Plan.", ihil said sale being void in view of the fact that the said 1936 Road Tax had been paid to the regular Tax Collector for Cecil Township and Receip Noe 2113 for same issued under date of May 14, 1937, and no notation of said payment entered upon the Tax Return Docket in the County Treasurer's Office. O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 12 39 WARD PRINTING CO ] 328 Motion duly made and seconded that the County Controller be authorised to transfer the sum of $600*00 from Account No. 504, Military Appropriations, to Account No. 1302, Tax Refunds. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the 'County Treasurer be authorised to accept liened and delinquent taxes without penalty and interest for the years 1934.35-36 against'the property assessed in the name of W. P. Landman in Centerville Borough, such action being taken in 000pera- tion with the Borough Council and School District of the said Borough of Centerville. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised to accept from the Ontario Gas Coal Company, the balance of the county taxes due for the year 1934, without penalty and interest, for the reason that payment thereof was tendered by the said coal company within the time fixed by law to pay penalty and interest, and the non-opayment thereof within the time limit was due to certain negotiations being carried on at the time with the County by reason of an over -payment having been made to the County by the said coil company. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorised and directed to postpone the sale of the property of Mrs. A. M. J. Burgan, Cecil Township, for the non-payment of taxes until April 22, 1944, by reason of the payments now being made by or for her on account ©f her delinquen taxes; and further by reason of the Order of Court postponing the said sale until the date mention d, entered by our Court on April 22, 1943, and duly filed at No. 254, May Term,, 1943. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned, THE FOREGOING MINUTES BUD AND APPFZVMI May 21, 1943 ATTEST: NO. 354 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., May 21, 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seoonded.-by Mr. O'Neil, that the following Resolution be adopted: BE IT RESOLVED, By the County Colmmissianers of Washington County that the plans submitted by the Department'of Highways for the"aging of State Highway Route 62103, South Strabane Town- ship, between stations 104s50 and 119e25, have been examined and the County Commissioners agree that the County will not assume liability for any property damages resulting from the construction of the highway as contemplated by these plans, or any damages arising out of any changes or altera- tion of drainage resulting from the construction or maintenance of`the highways, or any damges resulting to any property or holdings of any Public Utility Company; or any and all demge resulting to any coal or other minerals in and underlying the property affected by this improvement. Motion carried. Minutes No. 352 and 353 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.
