COMMISSIONERS 1 C NO. 355 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., May 28. 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman., that Ann Mrzlak, Donora, Pa., ndw employed as an extra clerk in the County Commissioners' Office, be employed regularly as clerk in that office for the remainder of the year 1943, effective as of May 16, 1943. and to cover the petiod from that date until the first Monday in January, 1944, with proviso that she may be dismissed upon thrity days notice. Motion carried. Minute No. 354 was read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs, Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of the Agreement bets Washington County and the McClene Mining Company, under date of June 2, 1943, covering all damage resulting to the county road known as the McClain Bridge-Meadowlends Road, by reason of the mov- ing of an eighty -ton link -belt shovel over and upon the said road by the said McClane Mining Company. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the execution of an Agreement under date of May 5, 1943, between Washington County and Ernest Rodgers, R. D. #1, Coal Center, Pa., covering the construction of a 2" pipd line for the purpose of carrying storm water under the Pike Run Road in East Pike Run Township from Moffit's Mill to Granville for a distance of 33 feet, more or less. Motion carried. Motion duly made and seconded that the provisions of the Act of May 210 1943, obating ser+- tain tax penalties and interest on unpaid county taxes be and the same is hereby accepted; that the County Treasurer be notified of this acceptance and receive a copy of the minutes covering this action of the Board of County Ccmmissioners. Motion carried. -Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the County Treasurer's Tax Sale of January 22, 1940, in the name of W. T. Sellman, Jr., Carroll Township, for delinquent taxes against Lots No. 137-138, Monongahela Land Company Plan, for the years 1928-29-30, for the reason that the said lots more also assessed in the name of the Monongahela Land Company, the rightful owner of the said lots for the said years. COMMISSIONERS 12 S9 WARD PRINTING CO Motion duly made and seconded that the County Treasurer be authorized to cancel the County Treasurer's Tax Sale of April 24, 1940, in the name of the Monongahela Land Compap , Carroll Town -'I ship, for delinquent taxes against lots No. 137-138, Monongahela Land Company Plan, such sale being in error in view of the fact that the said lots were owned by one Thomas Conti, Monessen,Pa. in whose name they were rightfully assessed and who holds tax receipts for the years in question. Motion carried* In accordance with application made to the County Commissioners for the erection of a Memoris4 Honor Roll on the Court House lawn for those men and women in the military service of the United States Government by a Committee composed of the following citizens of the City of Washington: A. C. Mitchell, Chairman, Elmer Wilson Fay R. Eakin, Don Zahnissr 1m. Williams, Wm. T. Driehorst, Treas. Tom Ruffa Steve Shook Dale Miller I. E. Goodridge Goerge Krause Harry Mull Rev. R. H. Rucker Lawrence Poll Jones Rumbaugh Chas. Hamilton motion was duly made and seconded that, in the absence of any suitable or available site owned by the City of Washington, or otherwise, permission to erect a Memorial Honor Roll to the meat and women in the military service of the United States Government from the City of Washington, on the Court House northeast lawn, be and the some is hereby granted for the duration of the war and one year thereafter, provided the erection thereat be under the general supervision of the Washington County Engineering Department and the planting of any shrubbery be subject to the approval of the County Commissioners, the County of Washingtonto be responsible in no way for the cost of the erection, maintenance or any damage to the said Memorial Honor Roll* Motion carried* There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned` June 11, 1943 ATTEST: NO, 357 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., June ll, 1943• Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Bed, Cummins and O'Neil* Co Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the application of Washington/under date of June 9, 1943, to the Water and Power Resources Board of the Department of Forests and Waters, for permission to construct a highway bridge across Fishpot Run, at a point approximately 1500 feet from the mouth of Fishpot Run at the Monongahela River in East Bethlehem Townships Washington County. Motion carried. _ Motion duly made and seoonded that approval be given tq the Agreewnt executed under date of June 7, 1943, between Washington County and the Pittsburgh Coal Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., covering the right to install, by boring under the road surface of the Westland Road in Chartiers Township, a 3" water line for the purpose of carrying water under the said road for a distance of 1 1 1 1
