O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS G 11 11 NO, 361 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., July 2% 1943. Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil. Motion duly made and seconded that approval be given to the preparation of a voucher in favor of Bloom & Bloom, attorneys for D•R, and C.E.Kearns, in the amount of $2045.61, representing the judgment of $3500,00 agreed upon at No, 335 February Term, 19Q, less credit of 1466.15 for expenditures made by Washington County in corm.ection with this matter, or a difference of $2033.85, with costs of $11.76, making the aforementioned total, the same arising out of the improvement of State Highway Route Nor 62052, Section 2, in Somerset Township, notion carried. Minutes No. 358-359 were read and approved by the Board. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. Board of County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose of opening bids in accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for the necoveary ballots and election supplies for use at the Primary to be held September 14, 1943, those present being County Commissioners Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, and County Controller Stuart, In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement for the necessary ballots for use at fto coming Primary, the following bid was opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners: tNGAHELA PUBLISHING COMPANY, Monongahela, Pa. and WARD PRINTING COMPANY, Washington, Pa. Approximately 100,000 regular white official ballots, Price per thousand for ballots furnished............ ,Approximately 500 regular white military ballots from various precincts, Price per precinct, minimum of 25 or less, per precinct Price per unit of 25 additional ballots to first 25.... Approximately 25,000 pink official specimen ballots for election. districts, Price per thousand for specimen ballots furnished ..... Approximately 30,000 pink official specimen ballots for candidates, eta, Price per thousand for specimen ballots furnished...... O'NEIL, COMMISSIONERS 1239 WARD N0. 362 - continued Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the necessary ballots for use at the Primary, to be held September 14, 1943, as set forth on the uniform specifications for bidding, be awarded to the Monongahela Publishing Company and the Ward Printing Company in accordance with the foregoing bid. Motion carried, the County Controller being present when this action was taken by the Board. The following bid was received, opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners in connection with the furnishing of tally sheets, return sheets, envelopes, numbered lists of voters, voter's guides, etc., etc., such supplies to be packed in 188 boxes for use in boroughs, tomships and third class cities, as may be found necessary: WILLIAM G. JOHNSTON COMPANY, Pittsburgh, Pa. 911.62 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the foregoing election supplies be awarded to the William G. Johnston Company, Pittsburgh, Pa., at their bid of $911.620 Motion carried, with the County Controller present when this action was taken by the Board. The following bid was presented to the Board in connection with the delivery of the ballots, ballot boxes and election supplies for use at the coming Primary: T. M. BEDILLION, R. D. -#4, Washington, Pa. $275,00 Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for the delivery of the aforementioned ballots, ballot boxes and election supplies be awarded to T, M, Bedillion, R, D. #4, Washington, Pa., at his bid of 1275.00, Motion carried. Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil* Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Irene Sokol, Washington, Pa., be employe) regularly as Clerk in the Office of the County Commissioners, effective July 12, 1943, to cover the period from that date until the first Monday in January, 1944, with proviso that she may be dismissmd upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Rosetta Kopko, Donora, Pa., be employed regularly as Clerk in the Office of the County Commissioners, effective July 12, 1943, to cover the period from that date until the first Monday in January 1944, with proviso that she may be dismissal upon thiftty days' notice.
