Office of the County Commissioners,
Washington, Pa., February 8, 1943,
Board of County Commissioners in joint session with the County Controller for the purpose
of opening bids as per advertisement of the County Controller for Fleet Insurance for public
liability, property damage, fire, theft, and collision coverage on truck and automobile equip-
ment and road -building machinery owned said operated by Washington County, those present being
Messrs. Berryman., Cummins and O'Neil, and County Controller Stuart.
In accordance with the aforementioned advertisement, the following bids were opened and
read in the presence of the County Commissioners:

Fire & Theft - Quaker City Fire & Marine
Insurance Co., Philadelphia, Pa. 356.88
Total premium for coverage requested $686,88
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the awarding of the contract be
deferred until a later date. Notion carried.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned.

Messrs. B.4..6y.—. and Cummins, Mr. O'Neil beint absent from the county; County Controller'Stuart
present.
The meeting was called for the purpose of awarding the contract for Fleet Insurance for
public liability, property damage, fire, theft and collision coverage on truck and automobile
equipment and road -building machinery owned and operated by Washington County
Accordingly, motion was made by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract

for the said Fleet Insurance be awarded to J. R. Culley, Burgettstovai, Pa., at his low bid of
$686,88, such policy to cover the period from February 18, 19430 to February 18, 1944. Motion
carried, with County Controller Stuart present when this action was taken and instructed to return

the certified check of the unsuccessful bidder.
Minutes No. 332-333-334-335-336 were read and approved by the Board.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman., that Etta Neebling be appointed as Cleaner
to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Catherine Naser, such appointment to become
effective February 16, 1943, to cover the period until the first Monday in January 1944, with
proviso that she may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice* Motion. carried.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman,
Cummins and O'Neil.
Motion duly made and seconded that the proposed budget for Washington County General Fund
for the year 1943 be made available for public inspection in the Office of the Chief Clerk of the
j County Commissioners until Thursday, March ll, 1943, on which date the said budget will be finally
adopted and the rate of taxation fixed for the year 1943, and that the following public notice be
jgiven in the Washington Observer:
In compliance with the provisions of the Acts of Assembly governing such
matters, the proposed budgets for the financial affairs for the Washington
County General Fund and the Washington County Institution District for the
fiscal year 1943 have been prepared and are available for public inspection
in the Office of the Chief Clerk of the County Commissioners, Court House,
Washington, Pa., said budgets to be finally adopted on Thursday, March 11,
1943,
