Deputy Register of Wills, be fixed at $210900 per month for the year 1941, effective January 1,
1941, the increase in salary being recommended because of the increase in living expenses and the
additional work in the office. Motion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not voting.
Motion duly made and seconded that the meeting adjourn until 1a30 P.M.. Motion carried and
Board stood adjourned.

January 10, 1941.
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the matter of fixing salaries
of employees doming under the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, met in the Office of the
County Commissioners on Friday, January 10, 1941, at 1:30 P.A., with the following members presents
! county Commissioners Berryman, Cummins and O'Neil, and County Controller Smith.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that John M. Connors who was not reappointed
as Clerk in the County Commissioners' Office, but given thrity days' notice, receive 415000 for
the month of January, 1941. Motion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not voting.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Smith, that the salaries
of the
persons herein named,
in the respective positions set forth, be fixed as follows.for the year
1941, effective January 1,

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Nr. Smith, that the salary of Joseph Warne,, Veterans'
Graves Registrar, be fixed at $125.00 per month for the year 1941, effective January 1, 1941.
Motion carried, with Mr. O'Neil not voting.
Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Mr. Smith, that the salary of H. Be Crunrine, Chief
Draftsman in the Road and Bridge Department, be fixed at 225.00 per month and the salary of
Paul J. Pettit, Assistant to Chief Draftsman, be fixed at $180.00 per month, for the year 1941,
effective January 1, 1941. Motion carried with Mr. O'Neil not voting.
Motion by Mr* Cummins, seconded by Mr. Smith, that the following rates of pay be established

Motion by Mr. Cummins, seconded by Gilbert Dentel, Deputy Controller, representing County
Controller Smith who had been excused from the meeting, that all employees working as extra Court
Clerks for the Prothonotary and Clerk of Courts, be paid at the rate of $4.00 per day; employees
working as extra clerical help, having six months or more experience, to be paid at the rate of
$3.50 per day; all other extra clerical help to be paid at the rate of $3.00 per day; substitute
cleaners to be paid at the rate of $2.00 per day. Motion carried, vrith Mr. O'Neil not voting,
