O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pennsylvania. July 1, 1936 . A meeting of the Washington County Commissioners was held on July 1., 1936, at 9:30 A.M. , in Court Room No. 3, Court House, Washington, Pa., for the purpose of conferring with the administrators of the Anna G. Quail Estate., Mr. A. M. Linn and Mr. R. L. Munce, to discuss the matter of purchasing this farm of 327 acres., coal reserved except under the farm buildings, located three and one fourth miles from Washington, on Route #19. The following representatives of the various departments of the County government were present: John D. Berryman., Pres. ., County Commissioner Earl B. Amos, County Commissioner John N. OfNeil, Hon. James I. Brownson, Pres. Judge Hon. Carl E. Gibson, Judge John L. Post, County Controller Elliott Finkel, Solicitor for Controller George D. Tams, County Engineer C. W. Tope, County Treasurer J. Ed. Ecker, Juvenile Court Officer Leo Considine, Warden of County- Jail Representing the Quail Estate: A. M. Linn, Administrator R. L. Munce, rt The meeting was called to order and President Berryman stated the purpose of the meeting and Mr. Munce was asked to state their side of the case, with an explanation of their reasons for selling the property, and any other information that he cared to give, aftwr which Mr. Linn and Mr. Munce were asked to retire in order that the County representatives might--hav-e -an--opportunity to discuss the matter. Mr. Lim also spoke briefly. President Berryman then read the written propostion made by the administrators, after which each member present was asked to make any remarks or suggestions he or she might care to make, and each responded as called upon. After all had been heard., a motion was made by Judge Gibson and seconded by Judge Brownson., that President Berryman appoint a committee to investigate further the Countyts needs as to, the dtsirability of acquiring more porperty for the erection, at some future time, of buildings to care for mental cases and childred and to utiltze prison labor. O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS WARD PRINTING CO 65137 Mr. Berryman appointed the above mentioned committee as follows: Hon. James I. Brownson Chairman Hon. Carl E. Gibson Mrs. Mae B. Ecker John L. Post J. Ed. Smith Leo Gonsidine John N. O'Neil Geo. D. lams President Berryman asked that Mr. Linn and Mr. Munce be notified as to the action taken at this meeting . There being no further business before the meeting, upon motion duly made and seconded, it was adjourned. (SIGNED) 'o- COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Office of the County Commissioners., July 16., 1936 , Washington, Penna. County Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Berryman, Amos and O'Neil. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil that the Controller be requested to advertise for bids for the re-surfacing of various surface-treated macadam roads in the County., as stiggetted by the County Engineer. Motion carried. There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned. (SIGNED) COUNTY COMMISSIONERS.
