O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS Office of the County Commissioners, , Washington, Pa., February 9, 1938. February 9, 1938, the Commissioners in tegular session; members present Messrs . John D. Berryman, Earl B. Amos and John N. OtNeil. On motion duly made and seconded, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted: WHEREAS, it appears to the County Commissioners that the necessities of the County require additional ground at the County Seat for the purpose of the erection of such building or buildings as may be necessary for the further accommodation of the Courts and of the several officers of Washington County, and for the reception and safe-keeping of the records and other papers in charge of such officers and for the further purpose of providing additional building or buildings for carrying on the additional and increased functions and duties of the County Commissioners; and WHEREAS, by an option executed by Mary Myers Ulery and Mark R. Ulery., and dated December 22, 1937, the County Commissioners of Washington County have been granted the exclusive option to purchase for the price or sum of $7500.00, at any time within six months from this date, free and clear of all liens and encumbrances., except taxes for the year 1938, ALL that certain lot or parcel of ground situate in the First Ward of the City of Washington County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, more specifically bounded and described as follows:- Fronting on the south side of West Beau in said City a distance of twenty (20) feet, more or less, tnd7extending southwardly of the same uniform width a distance of two hundred forty (240) feet., more or less, to West Cherry Avenue, bounded on the East by the` Court House Square,, owned by the County of Washington, and on the West by lot formerly of the Brown Estate, now of the County of Washington; and WHEREAS, it appears that the aforesaid sum or price Is reasonable and that it would be to the great advantage of the County to pur- chase the said lot of ground by reason of the necessities of the County as aforesaid and for the further reason that the said de- scribed property adjoins the County Seat with the Court House and Jail erected thereon, and separates the said County Seat from the County property to the West thereof., upon which is erected the County Garage; NOW THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that for the reasons set forth above there exists a necessity for the acquisition of the ground for the purposes set forth above; that by reason of the advantages re- sulting therefrom, as set forth above, the aforesaid option is hereby accepted, subject to the approval of the Court of Quarter Sessions which said approval the County Solicitor is hereby au- thorized tnd directed to seek.
