The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the -matter
of salaries of all employees of the County bf Washington who are employed,by
the County Commissioners of said County, or come under their jurisdiction, met
in the office of the County Commissioners in the Court House, Washington; Pa.,
on January 5th, 193%. at 1 P.M., the following members being -present v County
Commissioners Berryman, Amos and O'Neil and County Controller,'Post.
Upon motion by Mr. Post, seconded by Mr. Amos, the Board proceeded to
organize for the ensuing year by nominating Mr. Berryman -as Chai-rman-� There
being no other nominations for Chairman, the vote was taken and Mr. Berryman
was declared elected.
Chairman Berryman took the chair and Board proceeded to elect�a Secretary;
motion by Mr. Post, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that Mr. Amos be elected Secretary.
There being no other nominations for Secretary, the vote -was -taken and Mr: Amos
was declared elected Secretary.
The first matter to come before the Board was that of the- saiarj es of the
employees in the Commissioners' Office. After some discussion of the matter, a
motion was made by Mr. Berryman that all salaries in the Commissioner-st Office
which had been reduced from that paid in 1935 for the respective positions be
restored to that of 1935. This motion received no second and *hs therefore
declared lost.
The next office considered was the County Controllert's Office. Mr, Post
stated that some of the employees in his office were desirous of receiving -an
increase in their salaries. The mattervas discussed'at some length but no action
taken at that time.
Upon motion duly made and seconded, the Board adjourned to meet'at,2 P.M.
to fix salaries in the County Treasurer's Office.
The Salary Board for the County of Washington having to do with salaries
of employees in the office of the County Treasurer -met in the office of the
County Commissioners on Tuesday, January 5, 1937, at 2 P.M., members present
being County Commissioners Berryman, Amos and OtNeil, County Controller Post
and County Treasurer Tope.
Chairman Berryman presiding.
Motion by Mr. Tope, seconded by Mr. Amos, that the salaries -of the entire
Treasurer's Office remain the same as for the year 1936 with the exception of
the salary of Thresa Hank, whose salary to be increased from $140 per month to
r
$145 per month.
Motion carried.
