O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having- to do with the matter of'salaries of all employees of the County of Washington who are employed by the County Commissioners of said County, or come under their jurisdiction,'met 'in the office of the'County Commissioners in the Court House, Washington, Pa., on April 9, 1937; the following members being present: County Commissioners Berry-, man, Amos and O'Neil and County Controller Post. Motion by Mr. Berryman, seconded by Mr. Post, that the rate of 500 per hour for an eight -hour day be established for all County casual labor, effective April 1, 1937. Question called for: Mr. Post and Mr. Berryman voting "Yes", , Mr. Amos and Mr. O'Neil voting "No"; this being a tie, the motion was declared lost. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. Post, that the rate of 450 per hour be fixed for the casual labor in Washington County, effective April 1, 1937. Motion carried, with dr. Berryman voting "No". Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that all skilled labor of Washington County and small truck drivers, be paid at the rate of 50f per hour, effective April 1, 1937. Motion carried, with Mr. Berryman voting "No". Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that shovel operators, roller operators, large winch truck operators and foreman be paid at the rate of 6 0¢ per hour, effective April 1, 1937. Motion carried, with Mr. Berryman voting "Not' Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. OtNeil4 ,that the caretakers in the 10 Washington County Road Department be paid at the rate of 500 per hour, effective April 1, 1937. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr.. O'Neil, that the rate of pay for the hour men in the County Engineer's, Office be fixed as follows, beginning April 1, 1937: H. B. Grumrine 850 per hour J. Harold Chapman 600 " " JIt. Thomas Donahoo 600 " D. J. Nicksick 60,9 Ed. N. Doak 60¢ Motion unanimously carried. Lotion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the salaries of the mon employees in the County Engineer's Office, beginning April 1, 1937, be fixed as follows: George D. lams $300 per month Gilbert Dentel $125 C. J. Lutes $100 B. T. McGowan $135 to " Motion unanimously carried. NOTE: owing to a contemplated change, the salaries of Jay G. Nelan and G. L. Allman, will remain the same for the present, via., $,125 per month, each. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the salary of Leo Considine, Jail Warden, be fixed at $165 per month, effective April 1, 1937. I I Motion carried. Morton, Secretary to Superintendent of Schools, $110 per -month,; T. Ralph Johnston, Sealer of Weights & Measure-s., 3175 per- monthoP all .to be effective April 1p 1937. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded�by Mr. Post., that thesalaryof B. B. Irwin., Superintendent of Building., be fixed at $130 per month,;- Russell Adams, Engineer Court House & Jail, $140 per month; J. P. Meighen, Assistant Engineer, $115 per month; Fred Day, Assistant Engineer, $115 per month-- Anthony Note; Night Watchman., [James Mosley, lanitor, $65 $105 per month; Eugene Spells., Janitor., $90 per monthjA the salaries of the William Baker., Elevator month; Operator-.4 $65 per Thomas Baker, Janitor, $90 per mon .0 1 women cleaners all to remain the same as at present.- all of foreg-aing salaries to be effective April 1, 1937. Motion carried, with Mr:,. Berryman,voting "No". Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that T. C. Hickson be paid $10 per month as Secretary to the Prison Board, making his total salary $200 per month effective April 1, 1937. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. Post, that the salaries of the clerks in the Commissionerst Office be fixed as follows: Mary Lemmon $125 permonth Irene Merlin $120 " ff Emmett Keegan 125 Paul Allen 11125 Paul Curry $125 'All of above salaries to be effective April 1, 1937. Notion carried, with Mr. Berryman voting "No". Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr.- Post, that the ftlary of Duncan Berryman be fixed at $160 per month, and that of M. B. Armstrong be fixed at $140 per month., effective April 1, 1937. Question called foizz Voting -"Yes", Mr. Amos and Mr. Post; voting "No". Mr. Berrryman and Mr.- OfWeil; this being a tie,, the motion was lost. I Motion by Mr. Berryman that the salary of Duncan Berryman be fixed at $175 per month, beginning April 1, 1937. There being no second to this motion, it was declared lost. NOTE** Salary of Duncan Berryman to remain the same as at present, viz., $150 per month until further action is taken. Motion by Mr. Post, seconded by Mr. OtNeil, that the salary of Elliott Finkel, Solicitor to the County Controller, be fixed at-$100 per month, beginning April 1, 1937. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Mr. O'Neil that the salary of,M. B. Armstrong be fixed at $150 per month, effective April 1, 1937, but there being no -second to this motion, it was declared lost. NOTE: Salary of M. B. Armstrong to remain the same as at present, viz,, $135 per month, until further action is taken. E. Ashbrook, Farmer for the Prison Farm, be fixed at $35 per month as of April 1, 1937. Motion carried. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that 60 per -mile be established as a mileage rate on all individual cars used in County service, to�be effective immediately. There being no further business before the Board, motion by Mr. OtNeil, seconded by Mr. Amos, that the meeting be adjourned. Motion -carried. The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the matter of salaries of employees in the Office of the Sheriff, met in the office of the County Commissioners on April 22, 1937, with the following members present: County Commissioners Berryman, Amos and O'Neil and Sheriff -Fred W. Brady; and County Controller Post. Motion duly made and -seconded that adjustments of salaries of the following employees be made as follows; James Kane George Mosley Frank Heinrich Roland W. Brown $150 per month 150 n �► $150 n n $135 n n Motion carried, with all of above salaries becoming effective May 1, 1937. Motion duly made and seconded that the salary of J. A. Seaman be adjusted to 200 per month, effective May 1, 1937. Motion.carried. There being no further business before this meeting, it was adjourned. The Salary Board of the County of Washington having to do with the matter - of salaries of employees in the Treasurerts Office, met,in the -Office of the County Commissioners on April 22, 1937, with the following members present: County Commissioners Berryman, Amos. and OtNeil, County Trerasurer-C. W. Tope and County Controller Post. Motion duly made and seconded that the salaries of the employees in the Treasurerts Office named below be adjusted as follows: Theresa Hank $150 per month Margaret Hagan $130 n n Jane Maurer $►130 " n Alice T.
