the Office of the County Commissioners on Monday, November 14, 1938, with the

TO:
The County Commissioners
and
The County Controller
November 14, 1938.
Greeting,
Inasmuch as we have been unable to have the salary board meeting which I
requested about seven weeks ago, I am taking this means of advising you that
beginning November lst, 1938, Mary L. Meiser is not in the employ of the Clerk
of Courts. The vacancy has been filled by F. L. Burroughs, temporarily and the
salary is to be paid to that person. Due to the uncertainty of conditions ex-
isting in this office it is impossible to make a permanent arrangement, thus I
beg your indulgence.
Very truly yours,
IRBNE B. BURROUGHS
Clerk of Courts.
In accordance with the foregoing letter, motion was made by Mrs. Burroughs,
seconded by Mr. Smith, that the appointment of F. L. Burroughs as Deputy Clerk
of Courts be made as of November 1, 1938, at a salary of $125 per month.
carried.
