January 10, 1938.
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with salaries
and employees coming under its jurisdiction, met in the office of the County
Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Monday, January 10, 1938, at
1:30 P.M., said Board being constituted -of the following members: Chairman,
County Commissioner John D. Berryman; Secretary, Bari. B. Amos; County Commis-
sioner John N. O'Neil; County Controller J. K. Smith.
Chairman Berryman presiding.
First in order of business was the matter of salaries of employees in
the Office of the Register of Wills, with S. A. Barnum, Register of Wills,
,present.
Motion by Mr. Barnum, seconded by Mr. Smith, that the salary of Deputy
Register ,of dills, D. R."'Barnum be fixed at 215.00 per month for the year
1938, effective January 3, 1938.
Objection raised by Messrs. OtNeil and Amos, inasmuch as they are of the
opinion that the salaries of all deputies should be uniform, not to exceed
S200.00 per month. Question called for: Voting "Yes", fides rs. Berryman, Smith
and Barnum; voting t'No", Messrs. OfNeil and Amos, wishing their vote so re-
corded; this being a majority, the motion was carried.
All other employeest salaries in the Office of the Register of Wills are
fixed by the Court as follows:
Lucius McK. Crumrine, Legal Clerk $200.00 per month
Hazel V. Bauman, Clerk 140.00
Thelma MacBeth, Clerk 130.00
Peter Jollick, Clerk 130.00
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with the salaries
,and employees in the Office of the Recorder of Deeds, met in the Office of the
County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Monday, January 10, 19380
at 1:45 P.M., the following members present: County Commissioners Berryman,
Amos and O1Neil; Controller Smith and Recorder Cooper.

Motion carried, with above salaries effective January 3, 1938. There being
no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with salaries
and employees in the Office of the Clerk of Courts, met in the Office of the
County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Monday, January 10, 1938,
at 2:00 P.M., the following members being present: County Commissioners Berryman,
Amos and O'Neil; County Controller Smith; Clerk of Courts, Mrs. Irene Burroughs.
Motion by Mrs. Burroughs, seconded by Mr. Amos, that the salary of Mary
Meiser, now Deputy Clerk of Courts, be fixed at $125.00 per month, to apply
during the present incumbency and until the appointment is made by the Governor
of the Commonwealth. Motion carried, with salary effective January 3, 1938.
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with salaries
and employees in the Office of the Coroner, met in the Office of the County
Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Monday; January 10, 1938, at
2:15 P.M., the following members being present: County Commissioners Berryman,
Amos and OtNeil; County Controller Smith and Coroner Jones.
Motion by Mr. Jones, seconded by Mr. Amos, that Margaret Meiser be appointed
clerk in the Coronerts Office, with proviso that she may be dismissed upon thirty
dayst notice, and that her salary be fixed at 75.00 per month. Motion carried,
with salary effective Jan. 3, 1938.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
