the check of the successful bidder to be held in -lieu of bond until such time as
released by the County Commissioners. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

County Commissioners and County Controller in joint session for the purpose
of Gpening bids for the furnishing of ballots and also all necessary election
supplies for use at the Municipal Election to be held on November !, 1939. Present
for the County Commissioners were Messrs. Berryman and OtNeil and also County
Controller J. K. Smith; Mr. Earl B. Amos was absent.
The following bids were opened and read in the presence of the County Commis-
sioners as follows:
Joint bid of the Monongahela Publishing Company, Monongahela, Pa.,
and the Ward Printing company, Washington, Pa., to furnish approxi-
mately ninety-five thousand (95,000) Official Ballots, twenty-five
thousand (25,000) Official Specimen Ballots, and the necessary ballots
for a Motion Picture Referendum in the Borough of Roscoe, for the sum
of Four Thousand Seven Hundred Eighty-eight and No/100 Dollars
($4,788.00); all above for use at the Municipal Election November
7th, 1939, as per your advertisement.
Motion by Mr. O'Neil, and seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for the
above mentioned ballots be awarded jointly to the Ward Printing Company and the
Monongahela Publishing Company at their bid of 4,788.00.
Bids were also opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners in
accordance with the advertisement of the County Controller for supplying tally
sheets, return sheets, numbered lists of voters, Voter's Guides, etc., required
for use of the Election Officers at the Municipal Election to be held Nov, 7,
1939, packed in 188 boxes for use in boroughs, townships and Third Class Cities.

and the necessary Computing Books; all return papers and computing books

Motion by Mr. O'Neil and seconded by Mr. Berryman, that the contract for
the supplies necessary for the conducting of the Municipal Election, to be held
November 7, 1939, be awarded to the William G. Johnston Company, Pittsburgh, Pa
at their bid of $790.49. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. O'Neil and seconded by Mr. Berryman that the bid of Mr. T.M.
Bedillion, R. D. #4, Washington, Pa., of 275.00 for delivering the ballot boxes
and all election supplies for use of the various voting places in Washington
County, at ,the Municipal Election, Nov. 7, 1939, be accepted. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.

County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berry-
man, Amos and O'Neil.
Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the County Controller be
authorized to make the following transfers in appropriation accounts as provided
for in the budget for the year 1939;
$5000 from Account No. 107 to Account No. 152
2000 from Account No. 119 to Account No. 152
4000 from Account No. 132 to Account No. 152
600 from Account No. 157 to Account No. 152
1000 from Account No. 165 to Account No. 152
$740.46 from Account No. 170 to Account No. 156
Motion carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
