O'NEIL COMMISSIONERS Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa. , January 2, 1939. County Commissioners in regular session, those present being Messrs. Berryman, Amos and OtNeil. The organization of the Board of County Commissioners effected on the first Monday of January, 1936, continued in accordance with the provision of the Act of Assembly of 1929, (County Code) , td-,-wit: John D. Berryman., Chairman of the Board, and Earl B. Amos, Secretary. First In the order of business was the matter of employees in the various de- partments coming under the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners. Motion by Mr. Amos, seconded by Mr. OfNeil, that all employees coming within the jurisdiction of the County Uommissioners be retained in their respective capacities for the year 1939, with proviso that each may be dismissed upon thirty days' notice. Motion carried. There being no further business, the Board adjourned to meet at the call of the Chairman. (SIGNED) N COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Office of the County Commissiohers, Washington, Pa... January 6 ., 1939. The County Commissioners., having been advised by P. V. Marino, Solicitor for the County Controller, that payment would not be approved by the County controller,fbr'liability insurance contract awarded to henry G. Hood &' Sons on October 11 1938, in the amount of $6880.90, met with Hon. Carl E. Gibson, Hon. Howard W. kughes,, County Controller J. K. Smith and his Solicitor, P. , V.: Marino,, to discuss the matter of advertising for bids on county insurance in the event the amount of premium is $300-00 or more. After due consideration, it was agreed by the -County Commissioners that in the future, they would advertise, when required by law., for bids on insurance if the premium amounts to A300.00 or more; it was also agreed that the policy of Henry G . Hood & Sons remain in force until such time as the necessary_ advertising has been completed and the contract awarded for the liability insurance in ques- tion, and that the County Controller will approve payment to Henry G . Hodd & Sons of a pro rats share of the premium, covering the time said policy remains in force, viz. Noon, October 12, 1938, until Noon, January 28, 1939.
