BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Board of County commissioners in regular session: each member having had
personal notice of meeting, members present being Aessrs. Berryman, Amos and
O'Neil.
The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the County
of Washington, State of Pennsylvania., relative to the issue by the said County
of a note for One hundred Thousand ($100,000-00) Dollars as a temporary loan
was presented, duly seconded and adopted by said Board, to-wit:
WHEREA61 it has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum of One
Hundred Thousand ($100,000.00) Dollars for the purpose of meeting current expenses
for the year 1939 and to be payable out of taxes and other current revenues which
have been assessed and are to be levied and collected by the County during the
year 1939, now, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, by the Board of County Commissioners of the said County of
Washington, that for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of current
expenses of the County, the proper officials of the said County are hereby author-
ized and directed to negotiate a temporary loan on such terms as may be agreed
upon by them, payable out of taxes which are to be levied and collected during
the year 1939, and so much of said taxes as may be necessary to repay said loan
with Interest, are hereby set aside and designated for that purpose, and issue a
note therefor, payable August 5. 1939, with Interest from date of said note at
the rate of two per cent. per annum, free of all taxes levied by the Commonwealth
of Pennsylvania. which said taxes the County of Washington assumes and agrees to
pay, said note to be negotiated and issued as follows:
THE WASHINGTON UNION 'XhUST COMPANY, Washington, Pa. , $100.000.00
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned.

County Commissioners in 'session to consider the awarding of the contract for
Liability Insurance on Washington County buildings roads and bridges; those
present being Messrs. Berryman,,, Amos and O'Neil, with their Solicitor, David H.
Weiner.
The following letter from the Morris Insurance Agency, Washington, Pa., was
presented and read, withdrawing the bid of the Indemnity Insurance Company of
North America, opened January 14, 1939:

Gentlemen:
This is to advise you that I have been requested
by the indemnity Insurance Co. of North America to
withdraw the -bid entered January 11, 1939 for Public
Liability Insurance for the County Court House, County
Jail, County Garage and Storage Shed, County Detention
Home, four (4) private dwellings, 72-56 miles County
roads and bridges.

Motion by Mr. Amos., seconded by Mr. O'Neil that the withdrawal of the above
mentioned bid be accepted and that the bid deposit of the Morris Insurance Agency
in the amount of $100.00, accompanying their bid, be forfeited and the same be
directed to be paid into the County Treasury. Motion carried, with Mr. Berryman
not voting .
Motion by Air. Amos, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the contract for Liability
Insurance on Washington County buildings, roads and bridges, be awarded to Henry
G . Hood & Sons for a period of three years, beginning at Noon, January 28, 1939,
and expiring at Noon, January 28., 1942, at their bid of $6004.89, to be paid as
follows: First year, $3002.44; Second year, 1801.47; Third year, $1200.98;
and that the County Controller be authorized to return the certified check of
The S, W. Miller Agency. Motion carried, with Mr. Berryman not voting .
There being no further business before the meeting, it was adjourned.
