The Board of County Commissioners met in the office of the County Commis-
sioners, Court Houses Washington* Pa., on Monday, January 2, 1933s at 10:30 A.M.s
the following members being present: J. Elmer Johnston# John N, O'Neil and Wo A,
Barnes. The Board proceeded to organize for the current year upon motion by Mr.
O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the officers of the past year be continued*
j viz, Mr. J. Elmer Johnston, President and Mr, W. A. Barnes, Secretary. Motion
carried and officers declared re-elected.
Meeting in charge of President Johnston.
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the selection made- last
year of Norman E. Clark, Esq„ as solicitor, John G. Hall, as chief clerks and
George S, Chaney, acting as Chaney Engineering Company, as county engineer, be
confirmed for the ensuing year. Motion carried.
Lotion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that all employees in the
office of the County Commissioners and in all other departments coming within
the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, be re-elected for the ensuing year,
these including the Engineer of Court House, Jail and Grounds and assistants
the Superintendent of Court House and assistants, including helpers and those
employed in cleaning building, the operator of elevator, telephone operator,
sealer of weights & measures,. clerk in office of county engineer, mechanic at
county garage, employees at detention rooms on West Beau Streets with the pro-
viso that upon thirty days' notice any of said employees may be retired,,, Motion
carried.
Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes that from this date no bills
for supplies, repairs, office equipment, etc, , will be honored for payment unless

orders for same shall have been presented to the County Commissioners and approv-
ed by thems or a majority of said Board; all departments to be notified of this
action, Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that each Tuesday at 10 A,M*
and each Thursday at 10 A.M. , be designated and set aside as a time when the
Commissioners shall meet in session for the purpose of examining and approving
vouchers fcr payment, and other claims that may be presented. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that Board adjourn to meet
at the call of the President.
Motion carried and Board stood adjourned.
