BARNES, COMMISSIONERS t-32 WARD PRINTING CO 56502 Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., October 10, 1933. Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes. Joint meeting of Commissioners and County Controller at 11:15 A.M. to receive and open bids for printing and delivering approximately 3200000 official ballots and 640000 specimen ballots for use at Municipal Election of November 7, 1933, as required for candidates and special matters to be voted on by electors, and to receive and open bids for furnishing elec- tion supplies, as required, for the various election districts of -the County, present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes; Deputy County AController Albright, present; bid for printing ballots received from but one firm, viz, Ward Printing Company, Washington, bid accompanied by certified check, as required, and opened and read in presence of County Commissioners and being as follows: - Printing and delivering of Official and Specimen ballots as required for Municipal Election of 1933, approximately 320,000 Official and 64,000 specimen ballots-----------------$4140.00; bid for furnishing election supplies, as required, viz, 189 boxes for boroughs, townships and 3rd class cities, boxes to contain such supplies as necessary and set forth in advertisement, received from but one firm, viz, Wm.G.Johnston Co., Pittsburgh, bid accompanied by certified check, as required, and opened and read in presence of County Commissioners and being as follows: - Furnishing 189 boxes Election Supplies, as per specifications contained in advertisement, --------- --­----------- --640.30. Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that contract for printing and MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA J. ELMER JOHNSTON, JOHN N. O'NEIL, W. A, BARNES, COMMISSIONERS 1.32 WARD PRINTING CO 56502 delivering ballots be awarded to Ward Printing Co., Washington, at its bid of $4140.00 and for furnishing election supplies to Wm. G. Johnston Co., Pittsburghs at its bid of $640.30, and that said Wm. G, Johnston Co., be authorized to print names of borough and township offices to be filled by electors at said Municipal Elution of 1933 on all tally sheets, return sheets, -etc., etc., at additional cost of approximately �25.00. Motion carried. There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was adjourned. COUNTY COMMISSIONERS. Office of the County Commissioners, Washington, Pa., October 17, 1933. Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes. The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted;- WHEREAS, Pennsylvania is one of the leading coal producing States of the Union and one of the main products of the bituminous coal industry is coal tar, the use of which in road construction would increase employment in many lines and thereby aid in recorvery, therefore BE IT IIESOLVED, That this Board agrees to make use of tar and tar products wherever bituminous road material is required in the improvement and maintenance of the highways of Washington County.
