Commissioners in regular sessions members present being Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes. The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded, and adopted: WHEREAS,, The Borough of Canonsburg has made application to the State Highway Department of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania and to the Federal Bureau of Public Roads, for the improvement of West Pike Street in the Borough of Canons- burg, Washington County, Pennsylvania, from federal funds allocated to the Cox==- wealth of Pennsylvania, and has requested the County of Washington to join th the application; now therefore, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, Pennsylvania, believe that it is in the public interest that West Pike Street in the Borough of Canonsburg, from Oak Spring Road to the borough line of Houston, be adopted as a secondary or feeder road hnd be constructed from federal funds allocated to the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania; that said section comprises a part of what is known as the Valley Road from Washington to Canonsburg, where it connects with State Highway Route No. 108p and the improvement of this section would provide a much desired parallel route from the City of Washington to the Borough of Canonsburg which would carry much of the heavy traffic, particularly under adverse weather conditions, due to the fact that it is a low grade road.
