- Commissioners in regular session in first meeting of the New Year, 19349
at 10 A.M. , members present being Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes; the
organization of the Board effected on the first Monday of January,, 1932, con-
tinued in accordance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly {County Code) ,
of 1929, to-wit, Mr. J. E. Johnston, President of the Board and Mr. W. A. Barnes,
Secretary. The matter of making such appointments as come within the jurisdiction
of the County Commissioners was discussed and by Resolution., presented aid duly
seconded, and adopted, the action taken by the Board in 1932 in election of Nor-
man E. Clark, Esq. , Solicitor, John G. Hall, Chief Clerk, and George S. Cb*peyj,
As Chaney Engineering Company, County Engineer, was confirmed.
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that all employees in the
in the office of the County Commissioners qnd in all other departments coming
within the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, with the exception Of Louis
G. Mosebay, assistant superintendent of Court House, Mrs. Yetts. Thompson, of the
cleaning squad, and Eva Brooks, caretaker of w omen's rest room on court floor,
be re-elected for the ensuing year, with the proviso that upon thirty (30) days'
notice any of said employees may be retired, the names of those thus re-eleetdd
and positions filled by them being as follows:
John H. McCormick, chief engineer at court house and jail; Fred Hoffman,
assistant engineer; C. S. Ward, assistant engineer; H. Ed McCutcheonp Apperin-
tendent court house; Earl B. Amos, Mark M. Decker, M. B. Armstrong, Josephine
Stoner, Roxanne. Taylor, Mary Lemmonp Clerks in office of County Commissioners;
Georgene H. Morton, clerk in office Superintendent of Schools; Hazel Hughes,
telephone operator; Henry Keeling, night watchman court house; Margaret 4riggs.,
clerk in office of county engineer- John Swanson, Thomas Bkkerp Lawson Johnson,
janitors court house; W. H. Buffington, elevator operator; John F. Curran,
sealer of weights and measures; Anna Hair and Elizabeth Hair, matron and assistant
matron at Juvenile Detention Home on West Beau Street; John Wilson, mechanic at
county garage; and the following women employed as cleaners in and about the court
housb: Emma Alexander, Jessie Fraikes, Laura Johnsoh, Leoto SteAle, Sarah Inisp
Katharine Wyland, Daunice Alexander. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the Board, it stood adjourned.
