Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes. The matter of action by the Board on the use of Petitions for Registration and Enrollment filed, or to be filed, for the purpose of changing the political choice, or affiliation, of electors already registered and enrolled, ten days before the spring Primary of May 15, 1934* the opinion of Hon. Norman E. Clark, County Solicitors being before the Board was discussed; following the discussion, President Johnston called Mr. Barnes to the chair, Mr. Barnes presiding, Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that in all cases where Petitions for Registration and Enrollment have been filed, or may hereafter be filed, it is directed that where the return of the registry assessor shows that the applicant has not been registered and enrolled, the petition shall be ac- cepted and the name of the applicant, with designation of political choice, shall be added to the registration list, and that in all cases where petitions have been filed since Marsh 14, 1934, the date when registry assessors were at polling places to revise and correct registration lists, and changes of political choice, or affiliation, have been made on registration lists by clerks in the office of the County Commissioners, the applicant having already been registered and en- rolled as a member of a political party, that the requests on said petitions for such change of political choice, or affiliation, be ignored and the lists be restored, , or changed, to indicate the original choice of political party of the applicant and that the registration lists, thus restored, be certified at the proper time to Election Officers for use at the Spring Primary of May 15, 1934, and that in all cases where changes ha#e heretofore been made in regis- tration lists, or petitions may hereafter be presented for change of political party by persons already registered and enrolled, the applicant shall be noti- fied by mail that change of political choice only is not permissible.
