Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. , Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes; joint meeting of County Commissioners and County Controller atll**30 A.M. , to open bids for furnishing required official and specimen ballots for use at the Spring Primary of May 15, 1934, for such districts as require paper ballots and those wherein voting machine equipment U sayeboanyeessary, and to open bids for required supplies for said primary elections for such , districts as shall use paper ballots and those wherein voting machine equipment may be necessary, in accordance with advertisement for such bids by the County Controller; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes; County Controller Post present; bids from following concerns were opened and read in the presence of the County Commissioners, each bid being accompanied by certi- fied check as required: Bid for Election Su lies, complete, from Wm.G.Johnstod,Co. s Pittsburgh,- -Pa. , as follows: 189",sets of Supplies, including sets for use in districts where 'paper ballots are to be used, and 15 sets for districts wherein voting machines may be used .::-------------- $846.91; a supplemental bid from said Company, submitted as follows: 189 sets where paper ballots only are used ---------- $621.91; Bid for Ballots, as per said advertisements from Ward Printing Z-ompany, Washington, Pa. : Approximately 70000 Official Party Ballots and required specimen ballots, for districts where paper ballots are to be used, and necessary ballot labels and specimen ballots, for districts wherein voting machines may be used -----------------$2477.00p with deduction from said figures, if no voting machine ballot labels, etc. , are required, of -----------------------$322.000 additional ballots (paper ballots) , if required for districts where quotation above covers ballot labels, etc. , for voting machines, at rate of $15.00 per thousand. Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that awarding of contract be deferred until a later date. Motion carried. There being no further business before the joint meetings it was adjourned.
