Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johns-
ton, OtNeil and Berryman.
The following Resolution in the matter of contract with the General
Sales Engineering Corporation, of Philadelphia, Pa. ., for the purchase of 25
Voting Machines., dated April 2., 1934, and the Agreement supplemental thereto,
dated May 3. 1934, was presented, duly seconded and adopted:
WHEREAS, under the terms of said contract the question of discontinu-
ing the use of voting machines in the County of Washington was to be subtitted
to the electors at the November Election, 1934, and in the event that the elecbrs

in that Election voted to discontinue the use of said machines in the County then
the contract dated April 2, 1934, with the General Sales Engineering Corporation
was to be cancelled and rescinded, and in the event that the said electors at
said Election in November 1934 voted to continue the use of said machines then
the time for delivery of said machines, under the terms of said contract, was
to be extended to January 15, 1935; and
WHEREAS, the electors in the Boroughs of East Washington., Canonstagg
and Charleroi at the Election held on November 4, 1930, separately voted that
voting machines should be used therein., and
WHEREAS, at the said Election in November 1934, the electors voted to
discontinue the use of voting machines in the County, resulting in cancel U_Ag
and rescinding the said contract with the General Sales Engineering Corporation,
under the terms thereof, now, therefore
BE IT RESOLVED, that the said contract with the said General Sales
Engineering Corporation is hereby cancelled and rescinded, under the terms of
said supplemental agreement as aforesaid, and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED., that notice be given by advertisement as
provided by law for the submitting of proposals for the purchase of 25 voting
machines for the use of the County in said Boroughs of East Washington, Canons-
burg and Charleroi, the specifications to be the same as are attached to the
said contract with the General Sales Engineering Corporation, and that a copy
of this Resolution be given to the Attorney for the said General Sales Engi-
neering Corporation, Mr. Berryman not voting.
There being no further business before the Board, the meeting stood
adjourned. (SIGNED)
