BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA

Adjourned meeting of the Salary Board of the County of Washington# having
to do with the matter of salaries and employees in the office of the Sheriff,,
held in the office of the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa.,
on Wednesday, January 31, 1934, at 10:15 A*U., at the call of the Chairman,
members present being Messrs. Johnston, O'Neil and Barnes, County Commissioners,
Mr. Post, Controller, and Sheriff Fred W. Brady.
Motion by Mr. Srady, that three (3) men.(deputies) be employed in the office
of the Sheriff, at salaries as follows: one deputy to be paid $145.00 per month
and two deputies to be paid $140.00 per month, each,
There being no second to this motion, it was declared lost.
Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the -meeting adjourn to

Motion carried and meeting adjourned to meet at the call of the Chairman,
The Salary Board of the County of Washington, having to do with ithe matters
of salaries and employees in the office of the Sheriff, met in the office of the
County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Wednesday, February 28,
1934, at 11:30 A.., at the call of the Sheriff, members present being County
Commissioners O'Neil and Barnes, County Controller Post and Sheriff Brady.
Mr. Barnes acting as Chairman of the meeting.
Motion by Mr. Brady, seconded by Mr. O'Neil, that the sheriff employ
deputies in his office as follows:
James Kane, at salary of $145.00 per month;
Robert Cowell, at salary of $140.00 per month
and additional deputies to be paid at rate of
Five (5.00) Dollars per diem, as needed, for
each day actually employed, to be effective as
of January 22, 1934, Motion carried.
There being no further business before the meeting, it stood adjourned.
Memorandum of meeting of County Commissioners Johnston and O'Neil and Sheriff
Fred W. Brady, in office of County Commissioners, Wednesday afternoon, Feb. 21,134
Tentative agreement reached that Sheriff should employ three (3) deputies for
the present in his dffice, on following pay schedule; Deputy James Kane to be paid
at rate of $145.00 per month; Deputy Cowell to be paid at rate of $140.00 per month
Deputy George Mosley to be paid at rate of 5#00 per day for each day's work.
