BARNES, COMMISSIONERS The Salary Board having to do with salaries in and for the office of the County Recorder of Deeds met in the office of the County Commissioners, Court House* Washington, Pa. , on Monday, January 16, 1928, at 2:10 P.M. , members present being County Commissioners 'Walker, Johnston and Barnes , Recorder L. Frank Baker and County Controller Underwood. Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr* Barnes , that the following employees be retained in the office of Recorder of Deeds for the ensuing year, at salt aries as indicated: Mrs . Vesta Johnston, 4210 per month; Miss Bernice Baker, $125 per month; Mrs . Grace Wilson, $200 per month; Miss Helen R. Hall, $100 per month; Mrs McDougal, $100 per month; kiss Margaret Sutherland, $100 per month; Miss Marie Lincoln, $110 per month* Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, it was adjourned* ---------------------------- i An adjourned meeting of the Salary Board having to do with salaries in and for the office of the County Controller, convened in the office of the County Commissioners , on- Monday, January 16, 1928, at 2 :20 P,MO- , at the call of the Chairman, members present being County Commissioners Walker, Johnston and Barnes and County Controller Underwood. Motion by Mr. Underwood, that the following positions be filled in and for the office of the County Controller, to-wit: Deputy; Bookkeeper; Clerk; Investigator; Solicitor; there being no second to this motion, the chair de- clared it lost. Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the following posi- tions be filled in and for the office of the County Controller: Deputy; Book- keeper; Clerk; Solicitor. Motion carried* Motion by.Mr. Underwood that an extra employee be added to the force in the office of the County Controller, to be known as an Investigator, at a sal- ary of $150 per month, for the purpose of investigating Justice of the Peace's Dockets , final estimates , delivering checks to employees , looking after matters pertaining to bridges , books , etc. , and such other duties as might be suggested by the County Controller. There being no second to this motion, the Chair declared it lost* Motion by Mr. Underwood that the following salaries be fixed for employees in and for the office of the County Controller• Deputy, $200 per month• Book- keeper, $150 per month; Clerk, $150 per month; Solicitor, $100 per month* There being no second to this motion, the Chair declared it lost* Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the salaries for em- ployees in and for the office of the County Controller be the same as heretofore. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, it was ad- journed.
