Washington, Pa., October 2., 1928.
Commissioners in regular session, all members present. The following
.-,esolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted;
VvHEREAS, An agreement has been duly entered into between the County
of Washington and the Department of Highways for the construction of a piece
of highway in the Township of Peters, Application No. 5404, which contract is
now in process of execution,
BE IT RESOLVED, that the Secretary of Highways be directed to change
the construction drawings to provide for the construction of a concrete box
culvert at approximately Station 43, in lieu of 74 feet of 36 inch reinforced
concrete pipe with two end walls, in order to provide a cattle passage, which
provision will diminish the property aamage for which the County is liable
in connection with the construction of the aforesaid section of highway, the
additional cost being approximately 564.42,, which said additional cost the
County agrees to pay to the Commonwealth, payment to be made in accordance with
the conditions of the original agreement entered into, and that the Commissioner
be authorized to enter into an agreement with the Secretary of Highways for
the additional construction outlined above.

Commissioners in regular session, all members present. Joint
meeting of County Commissioners and County Controller at 11:13 A. M. to open
bids for the printing and delivery to office of County Commissioners of offi-
cial and specimen ballots for use at the General Election to be held on Novem-
ber 6, 1928; County Commissioners present; Miss Miller, from office of County
Controller, representing that office; bids from the following concerns, ac-
companied by certified check as required, were opened and read in presence of
County Commissioners;
Ward Printing Company, Washington, $2745.00
Derrick Publishing Co., Oil city; 3485.00
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded.by Mr. Johnston, that the contract
for printing and delivering to office of County Commissioners approximately

80,1000 official and 161,000 specimen ballots for use at General Election to be
held on Nov. 67 1926, be awarded to the Ward Printing Company, Washington, at
its bid of $2745.00, and that County Controller be directed to return check of
the unsuccessful bidder. Motidn.carried.

The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted; --
WHEREAS, there has been presented the petition of the Supervisors
of Donegal Township, representing that a section of highway in said Township,
being about 5000 feet in length and situated as follows; Claysville-Bethany Road
beginning at the foot of the Mehaffey Hill and extending'to the Dutch Fork Church,
---one half cost of surfacing not to exceed $1500.00, is in need of improvement
and that the said Township desires to take advantage of the provisions of the
Act of June 12, 1919, therefore,
BE IT RESOLVED, That wed;the County Commissioners of Washington
County do hereby agree on beh&lf of said County to contribute $1500 from current
revenues towards the improvement of highway specified in the application of the
Township of Donegal, above recited.
There being no further business, the Board adjourned.
