Washington, Pa. , May 27, 1929.
The Salary Board having to do with the matter of salaries in and for
the office of'Sheriff, met in the office of the County Commissioners, on
Monday,, May 27,, 1929, at the call of Sheriff Abbott, members present being
County Commissioners Barnes and Johnston, County Controller Underwood and Sher—
iff Abbott;
Motion by Mr. Abbott, seconded by Ar. Underwood, that Charles Hopkins
be appointed Deputy. Sheriff in the office of the Sheriff, to succeed Otto
Luellen, resigned, and that the salary of the said Charles Hopkins be fixed at
$150 per month, his appointment to date from "lay 20, 1929. Motion carried.
There being no further business before the -board, the meeting was adjourned

Commissioners in regular session; members present being Messts. Barnes,
Johnston and Walker.
Joint meeting with County Controller Underwood for discussion of matter
relative to purchase of Ford car for use of Probation Officer; motion by Mr.
Johnston, seconded by Mr. Underwood, that a Ford automobile, known as Ford
Coupe, be purchased from "`artin Shumaker Motor Company, Donora, Pa., at its pro-
posal to supply same for price or sum of $625.00, with allowance of $125.00 for
used car to be turned in. MRtion carried.
There being no further business before the joint meeting, it was
adjourned.
