The Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs.
Johnston, Barnes and Walker. Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Johnston, that
we award the contract to C. H. Arnold Construction Company for furnisbing one-half
yard General Shovel at their bid of $7725.00.
Motion by Mr. Johnston, seconded by Mr. Walker, that we award the contract
to , `Ile Brinker Supply Company for the delivery of one 120 cu. ft. Schramm air
compressor at their bid of 44350 -
The�e being, no further business, the meeting was adjourned.

The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted; RESOLVED,
That the proposition submitted by John Herd, contractor, for widening the pavement
on Shaft Road to end of Locust Avenue, be accepted, At following unit prices;
Excavation, $;.00 cu. yd.
Roadway Pavement, 2466 sq. yd.
Curb (6" x 8" ) 60 11n.ft.
Catch basin complete, 60 '00
Slag.. 3.00 per ton

The following resolutions were presented, duly seconded and unanimously
adopted;-
Whereas, a section of State Highway Route No. 736, located in Union
Township, being about 14, 000 feet in length and a point between New Eagle and
Elrama is in need of improvement,,
liow, Therefore, Be it Resolved, that .we desire that the section of
State highway specified be improved from the funds allocated to Washington
County, as provided by Act of Assembly, approved May 1, 1929, and be it further
Resolved, that we request t",-,at the aforesaid improvement be the first
in order of preference, to receive consideration from Washington County's alloca-
tior4 as therein provided.

WHEREAS, a section of State Highway Route No. 545, located in Mount
Pleasant and Cecil Townships7 being about 16,000 feet in length and starting
at Woodrow eaet towards Hickory; also near Venice, is in need of improvement$
now, Therefore,
Be It Resolved, that we desire that the section of State highway speci-
fied be improved from the funds allocated to washington County2 as provided in
the Act approved iiay 1, 1929, and
Be it Frther Resolved, that we request that the aforesaid improvement
be the second in order of preference, to receive consideration from Washington
County's allocation, as therein provided.
AND
WHEREAS, there has been presented to this Board a petition from the
Borough Council of Speers Borough, Washington County7 representing that a section
of highway in said Speers Borough, starting at a point at the Borough line at
Maple Creek, to the junction of highway Routes 71 and 88 near ,Belle Vernon station,,
being about 4000 feet -in length, is in need of improvement and setting forth that
said Borough desires to take advantage of the provisions of the Act of June 12,

1919, as amended, etc., permitting counties of the Con=nviealth of Pennsylvani
:�o appropriate and expend moneys for the improvement and maintenance of State
Highways and State-Aid Highways, etc., therefore7
BE IT RESOLVED, that we agree on behalf of said County, to contribute
$4000 from current revenues towards the improvement of the highway specified in
the application of the Borough of bpeers.
There being no further business before the Board, ttei-vmeeting was
County Commissioners.
