Barnes and Walker; Mr. Johnston having notice of meeting, but absent.
Joint meeting of county Commissioners and County Controller at 11:15
A. M. to open bids for the printing and delivery to Commissionerst office of
approximately 95,000 official and 90,000 specimen ballots for use at kunicipal
Election to be held on bovember 5, 1929; present for t,'ounty Commissioners,
Messrs Barnes and Walker; County Controller Underwood present; bids opened
and read in presence of County Commissioners, fvom following; -
Derrick Publishing Company, $1085-00
Ward Printing Company, in excess of Derrick Companyto bid.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that because of the
enormous number of Independent tickets filed and the complications
that may arise therefrom, we feel disposed to award contract for printing and
delivery of ballots to local bidder, at price of $1071-00, and that County
Controller be directed toxeturia the certified check of unsuccessful bidder.
Motion carried.
