Washington, Pa. , January 6, 1930.
The Board of County Commissioners met in the office of the County Com-
missioners.,0olirt,-House, Washington, Pa., on Monday, January 6. 1930s for
organization, the following members being present; Commissioners W. A. Barnes,
J. E, Johnston and J. W. Walker. The Board proceeded to organize, there being
a motion by Mr. Barnes seconded by Mr. Walker, that Mr. Johnston be elected
President of the Board for the ensuing year. Motion carried and- Mr. Johnston
declared elected.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes.. President Johnston in the
chair, that John G. Hall, Chief Clerk to the County Commissioners4i be elected
Secretary of the Board for the ensuing year. Motion carried and Mr. Hall de-
clared elected.
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker, that all employees in the
office of the County Commissioners and in all other departments, coming within
athe jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, be re-elected for the ensuing
year, these including the Engineer of Court House, Jail and Grounds and assist-
ants, the superintendent of Court House and assistants, including helpers and
those employed in cleaning building., the employees at Detention Rooms on West
Beau street, and at county garage, with the proviso that upon thirty day's no-
tice any employee may be retired. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that George S. Chaney be
re-elected County Engineer and that all employees of that department be re-
tained for the ensuing year, with the proviso that upon thirty dayts notice any
of said employees may be retired. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that Mark M. Decker be 4
elected to a position in the office of the County Commissioners, to look after
tax sales, etc. Motion carried,
There being no further business before the Board, it was adjourned.
