COPY OF RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION of the Board of' County Commissioners of the County
of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said
County of one hundred seventy-five (175) Road improvement Bonds of the denom-
ination of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each.
At a meeting of the said Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Washington, in the State of .Pennsylvania, duly called and held at
the office of the said Board of County Commissioners -at the Court House of the
said County of Washington, in the City of Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 7th
day of January, 1930, all of the members of said Board, to-wit: W. A. Barnes,
J. E. Johnston, and J. W. Walker, being present, the following Resolution was,
on motion duly made and seconded, and adopted by the affirmative vote of all
of said members of said Board, to-wit:
WHEREAS, by proceedings had in the Court of Quarter Sessions
of said Washington County, Pennsylvania, in accordance with the provisions of
the Acts of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved
the Ilth day of May 1911, Pamphlet Laws page 244, and the 31st day of May, 1911,
Pamphlet Laws page 468, and the amendments thereof and supplements thereto,
the improvement and construction of certain sections of the main public roads
in said County has been authorized, ordered and decreed.
HEREAS., the said Board of County, Commissioners of said County
j propose to proceed, during the year 1930, to improve and construct the said
o roads so authorized and directed to be i,proved and constructed as aforesaid,
and in order to provide for the funds to pay the cost of the said improvement a
construction of said roads, it is necessary to borrow upon bonds to be issued
by the said County the sum of One Hundred Seventy-five Thousand ($175,000.00)
Dollars, the funds now in the treasury of the said County, and those to come
in during the said year, from sources other than each borrowing, not being
sufficient to defray said cost,
NOW1 THEREFORET BE IT RESOLVED by the Board of County Com-
missioners of the said County of Wakington, and State of Pennsylvania, that
for the purpose of providing funds to pay the cost of the improvement and
construction of the public roads and highways now constructed or to be con-
structed by said County, so as aforesaid authorized, ordered and decreed, the
said county do borrow the sum of One Hundred Seventy-five Thousand ($17f>,000,00)
Dollars, and increase its indebtedness by the issue of one hundred seventy-five
(175) bonds in the denomination of One Thousand ($1,000.00) Dollars each,

to be numbered from one to One Hundred seventy-five (1 to '175), both inclusive,
to bear date the lst day of February, 1930, and to bear interest at the rate

of four and one-fourth (4g%) per cent, per annum, from their date, payable semi-
annually on the lst days of February and August in each year., both principal
and interest being payable, free of any taxes required to be paid or which may be
hereafter required to be paid under any' law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania,
(except success ion and inheritance taxes) , the said County expressly agreeing
and assuming to pay the same.
The principal of the said bonds to mature as follows,to-wit:

10ft;-be and the same is hereby levied and assessed upon the proper subjects of
taxation within said County, to be applied solely to the payment of the principal
of said bonds at maturity and the interest and State taxes thereon as the same
shall become payable, (said annual tax is sufficient for the payment of the in-
terest and State taxes thereon and of the principal of said debt within a period
not exceeding thirty years, to-wit, within thirty (30) years from the date of
increasing said debt) . to be collected, for the following 'years and in the fol-
lowing amounts, to-wit:

A1�1D BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that pending the collection of
the tax hereinabove levied there is hereby appropriated from the current
revenues of the County of Washington the sum of $4,418.75 to meet the
interest on said bonds falliug-duef'�un August 1., 1930, and the State
-rax for the year 1930, which said sum shall be repaid out of the taxes
hereinbefore levied when and as the same shall be collected.
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the money collected f- -- ,,
from the taxes levied in the foregoing resolution authorizing the issue
of the said bonds, shall, as collected, be paid to the County Treasurer,
into a special sinking fund, to be kept separate from the other funds,
and shall be applied by him to the payment of the principal of said bonds
at the maturity thereof and the interest and State taxes thereon as the
same become due and payable .
AND BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED,, that before any of said bonds
shall be issued., a Statement shall be prepared, executed and filed in
