Washington, Pa. , March 3, 1930,
The Salary Board having to do with salaries and employees in the office
of the Clerk of Courts, met in the office of the County Commissioners, Court
House, Washington, Pa., on Monday, March 3, 1930, at the call of Clerk of
Courts, Davies, the following members being present; County Commissioners
Johnston and Walker, County Controller Woodward and Clerk of Courts Davies.
President Johnston in the chair.
Motion made by Mr. Davies that Samuel Chaney be appointed Deputy Clerk
of Courts, at salary of $200 per month, having received no second, was de-
clared lost.
Motion by Mr. Walker., seconded by Mr. Davies, that Samuel Chaney be
appointed Deputy Clerk of Courts, at salary of $175 per month, effective from
February 15, 1930. Motion carried.
Motion by Mr. Davies, that Irene Burroughs, be retained as clerk in
office of Clerk of Courts for the period of March 1at-15th, inclusive, or for
one half month., salary for said period to be at rate of $100 per month. Motion
carried,

Excerpts of Minutes of County Commissioners
of Washington County, Pa. , March 3, 1930.
At a meeting of the County Commissioners held on March 3. 1930, all members
being present, the following Resolution was unanimously adopted and entered
upon the Minutes;
RESOLVED, That the County will appropriate to the City of Washington, Pa.
a sum not exceeding $25,000.00 for the year 1930 and a sum not exceeding
$25,000.00 for the year 1931, for the purpose of conditioning an Aviation Field
to be leased by the City of Washington, Pa. , to the United States Department
of Commerce, and to become effective when the said City acquires title to the
property for the same, by lease or otherwise, upon such terms as are satisfactory
to the County; the work of conditioning the same to be 94bject to the approval
of the United States Department of Commerce before any lighing equipmeAt

Board of County Commissioners in regular session, each member having had
personal notice of meeting, members present being Messrs. Johnston, Barnes and
Walker.
The following Resolution of the Board of County Commissioners of the
County of Washington, relative to the issue by the said County of $10,000.00
in temporary loans was presented, duly seconded and unanimously adopted by said
Board, to-wit--
WHEREAS, it has become necessary for said Board to borrow the sum
of $10,000.00 for the purpose 6f meeting current expenses for the year 1930 and
for which taxes have been levied but not yet paid into the County Treasury, now,
THEREFORE,
BE IT RESOLVED, By the Board of County Commissioners of the said
County of Washington, for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of
current expenses., the proper officers of the said County are hereby authorized and
directed to negotiate temporary loans and issue Notes therefor, payable on demand,
with interest from date, said Notes to be negotiated and issued as follows;
Name of Institution Amount.
Citizens Trust Company, Canonsburg, Pa. $100000.00
and that the said Notes are to be paid out of funds available
' from taxes that
have been levied for the current year 1930.
There being no further business before the Board, it was adjourned.
