Hope Section, 2 1/2 miles; Frogtown-Independence Section, 2-1� miles, total about 5 Miles in length, as per 2 petition presented by the Supervisors of Independence Township. ----------------- Sept. 2, 1930. Commissioners--all present. Following Resolution presented, duly seconded and adopted;- Resolved, That the County contribute the sum of $500 from current funds towards the improvement of the section of highway in Cecil Township, start- ing at a point on State Route No. 545, approximately 1700 feet West of the village of Venice and extending to the Cecil and Mt. Pleasant Township line near the village of Southview, beinf about 5280 feet in length, as per petition presented by the Supervisors of the said Township of Cecil. ------------------- Sept. 2, 1930. Co—missioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, Walker and Barnes. Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the County purchase, for use of the Sheriffts office, from the Scott Motor Company, a Chevrolet auto- mobile, for the cash price of $300.00, allowance being made on used auto to cover additional item of cost. Motion carried. ------------------- 262 MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA JAMES W. WALKER, J. ELMER JOHNSTON, W. A. BARNES, COMMISSIONERS ADM Sept. 2, 1930. The Salary Board, having to do with salaries of count-y,,employees met in the'-office of the County Commissioners, Tuesday, September 2, 1930, at the call of the President; members present, County Commissioners Johnston and Barnes, County Controller Woodward. Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that W. H. Buffington be elected as operator of the elevator in the Court House, at monthly salary of 880.00., his election to this position to be effective as of August 1, 1930. Motion carried. There being no further business before the Board, the meeting was adjourned. ---------------- Sept. 2, 1930. COPY OF RESOLUTION RESOLUTION of the Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington and State of Pennsylvania, relative to the issue by the said County of two hundred fifty (250) Road Improvement Bonds of the denomination of One Thousand ( $1,000.00) Dollars each. At a meeting of the said Board of County Commissioners of the County of Washington, in the State of Pennsylvania, duly called and held at the office of the said Board of County Commissioners at the Court House of the said County of Washington, in the City of Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 2nd day of September, 1930, all of the members of said Board, to-wit: J. E. Johnston, J. W. Walker and W. A. Barnes, being present, the following Resolu- tion was., on motion duly made and seconded, and adopted by the affirmative vote of all of said members of said Board, to-wit : WHEREAS, the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania has and is now construct- ing, reconstructing and improving certain State highways and said Washington County, Pennsylvania, has agreed to pay certain amounts of the cost thereof, 2631 MINUTE BO. BARNES, COMMISSIONERS under the provisions of the Acts of the General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania, approved the eleventh day of May, 1911, Pamphlet Laws page 468, and the amendments thereof and supplements thereto. No . $1t000.00 KNOW ALL MEMBY THESE PRESENTS., That the County of Washington, in the State of Pennsylvania, for value received, acknowledges itself to be indebted and promises to pay to bearer, or if registered, to the registered holder hereof, the sum of One Thousand ( ;;1,000.00) Dollars in lawful money of the United States of America, on the first day of November, 19_, with interest thereon at the rate of four and one-fourth (41) per cent, per annum, payable semi-annually on 4 the first days of May and November in each year, both principal and interest being payable, free of any taxes required to be paid or which may be hereafter required to be paid under any law of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania (except succession and inheritance taxes) ; said. This bond may be registered as to principal only upon the bond registry book to be kept at the office of the County Commissioners of Washington County, and by endorsement upon the back hereof by the Clerk for the time being for the County Commissioners, after which no transfer of this bond shall be made except by the registered holder or holders in person, or by their duly authorized attorney,and such transfer shall be noted upon the bond registry book kept at the office of the Commissioners of Washington County, and upon the back hereof, provided, however, that this bond may be transferred to bearer, and negotiability thereof restored, and shall continue subject to registrations or transfers to bearer, but no such registration of principal shall affect the negotiability of the coupons hereto annexed, which shall continue to be transferable by delivery only. This bond is one of a series of two hundred fifty (250) bonds, 'of like date, tenor and effect, differing only as to maturity, amounting in the aggregate to Two Hundred fifty thousand ($250,000.00) Dollars., issued for the purpose of providing funds for the payment of the said Countyls share of the cost of con- structing, reconstructing and improving State Highways in said County, pursuant to the authority conferred by the Acts of the General Assembly of the Common- wealth of Pennsylvania, approved May 31, 1911, Pamphlet Laws page 468, and ap- proved April 20, 1874, Pamphlet Laws page 65., and the Acts &f the said General Assembly amendatory thereof and supplemental thereto and by virtue of a Resolu"' tion of the Board of County Commissioners of said County, adopted at a meeting thereof duly called and held., and entered upon the minutes. It is hereby certified and recited that all acts, conditions and things necessary -to the validity of this bond, exist, have happened and have been done; that every requirement of law affecting the validity hereof has been duly complied with; that this bond is within every debt and other limit pre- scribed by the constitution and laws of the State and that prior to the issuance thereof an annual tax has been levied in a sum sufficient to pay the principal and interest of this series of bonds.
