The Board of County Commissioners met in the office`of the County Com- missioners, Court House, Washington,'Pa., on Monday, January 5, 1931, for organization, the following members being present; Commissioners J. Be Johnston. J. W. Walker and W. A. Barnes. The Board proceeded to organise upon motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the officers of the past gear be continued, viz,*Mr. J. E. Johnston, President and John G. Hall, Chief Clerk of the Board, Secretary. 140tion carriedg, and the said officers were declared elected. Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that all employees in the office of the County,Comffiissioners and in all other departments coming within the jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, be re-elected for the ensuing gear, these including the Engineer of Court House, Jail and groundws and assis- tants, the superintendent of Court House and assistants, including helpers and those employed in cleaning building, operator of elevator, the employees at detendtion rooms on West Beau Street and at county garage, George S. Chaney, County Engineer and all employees of that department, with the proviso that upon thirty dayts notice any of said employees may be retired. Motion carried. There being nonfurther business before the Board, the meeting was de- clared adjourned. Y SALARY BOARD. THE SALARY BOARD for ' the County of Washington niet for organization in the office of the County Commissioners, Court House, Washington, Pa., on Mondays January 5, 1931, at 12 o'clock Noon,. the following members being present; County Commissioners J. E. Johnston, J. W. Walker and W. A. Barnes and County Controller Guy Woodward. Motion by Mr. Woodward, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the Board organize for the ensuing year with the same officers that served during the past year, viz, Mr. J. E, Johnston., Chairman and John G. Hall, Chief Clerk of County Commissioners, Secretary. Motion carried, Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that all employees in office of County Commissioners and in all other departments coming within the r a MINUTE BOOK BOARD OF COUNTY COMMISSIONERS WASHINGTON COUNTY, PENNSYLVANIA . BARNES, COMMISSIONERS jurisdiction of the County Commissioners, who had hitherto been re-elected, be given the same salaries they had received during the year 1930. Motion. carried. The Board then proceeded to meet with the officers of the other de- partments of the County and thus the Salary Board having to do with employees and salaries in and for the office of Recorder of Deeds met in the office of the County Commissioners, Court douse, Washington, Pa., on Monday, January S, 1931, at 12:30 Noon, members present being Recorder L. F. Baker, County Com- missioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and Controller Woodward. Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mrl Barnes, that all employees in the office of Recorder of Deeds be retained for the ensuing year at.the same sal- aries they have been receiving heretofore and that Irene Barbour, employed on per diem basis in transcribing department, be placed on regular salary list of said office, at the same salary other transcribers are receiving, viz, 100 per month. Motion carried. the Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees and salaries in and for the office of Prothonotary met in the office of the County Commiattioners on Monday, January 5, 1931s at 12:45 noon, members present being Prothonotary-E. T. McNary, County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and Controller Woodward. Motion by Mr. McNary, seconded by Mr. Woodward, that all employees in the office of Prothonotary be retained for the ensuing year at the same salaries they have been receiving heretofore. Motion carried. The Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees and salaries in and for the office of Clerk of Courts met in the office of the County Commissioners on Monday, January 5, 1931s at 12:50 noon, members present being Clerk of Courts Wm. T. Davies, County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and Controller Woodward. Motion by Mr. Davies, seconded by Mr. Walker, that all employees in office of Clerk of Courts be retained for the ensuing year at the some salaries they have been receiving heretofore. Motion carried. The Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees and salaries in and for the office of Coroner met in the office of the County Commissioners on Monday, January 5, 1932L, at 1 P. BARNES, 'COMMISSIONERS Motion by Mr. Baker, seconded by Mr, Barnes, that Miss Mary McGregor be retained in the office of Clerk of Courts at -same salary she has been re-ceiving heretofore. Motion carried, Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that Board adjourn until r ! 3 P, M. M,, at which the Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees f '4 and salaries in and for the office of County Treasurer not in the office of the County Commissioners, members present being County Treasurer John N, O'Neil, County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and Controller Woodward, Motion by Mr. O'Neil, seconded by Mr. Woodward, that in the all employees office of the County Treasurer be retained for the ensuing year at the same -salaries they have been receiving heretofore. i Motion carried, The Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees and salaries in and for the office of Sheriff met in the office--f the County Commissioners, ' on Monday.. January 5, 1931, at 3:30 P. M., Members present being Sheriff J. A, Seaman.. County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes and Controller Woodward. Motion by Mr. Seaman, seconded by Mr. Woodward, that all employees r in the office of Sheriff be retained for the ensuing year at same salaries they have been receiving heretofore. Motion carried, The Salary Board having to do with the matter of employees and sal- aries in and for the office of County Controller met in the office of the I County Commissioners on Monday, January 5, 1931, at 3:45 P. M., members present being Controller Guy Woodward and County Commissioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes. Motion by Mr. Woodward, seconded`by Mr. Walker, that all employees f in the office of County Controller be wetained for the enw4W year at the - same salaries they have been receiving heretofore. Motion carried. I r Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker, that persons who may hereafter be employed in the capacity of extra help in the various depart- ments of the County of Washington shall be paid at rate of Four ($4.00) Dollars k per diem, for each day actually so employed.
