The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted: - RESOLVED, That the County of Washington appropriate the sum. of 400 from current revenues towards the improvement of the section of highway situate in, Union Town hip, Washington County, starting at a point on Hill's Hollow Road, 'Aeginning of Mingo Creek Road and extending N'orthwestwardly to the Mingo -Venetia Road, being about 3/4 mi* in length, as per petition presented to County Commis- sioners by the Supervisors of said Township of Union. The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted: RESOLVED, That the County appropriate the sum. of $500 from current revenues towards the improvement of the section of highway in South Strabane Township# starting at a point at Zediker cross roads near Zediker station on B & 0 Railroad and extending to bridge on line between South Strabane Township and Somerset Town- ship, being about 5280 feet in length, as per petition presented to County Com- missioners by Supervisors of said South Strabane Township. Talker having notice of meeting, but absent. Joint meeting of County Commissioners and County Controller at 11y15 A.M* to open bids for furn- ishing of supplies for use of election officers of the County at Municipal Elec- tion of 1931s and for printing and delivery to County Commissioners of approxi- mately 110*000 official ballots and 25,000 specimen ballots for Municipal Election of 1931; present for County Commissioners, Messrs. Johnston and Barnes; County Controller Wooftard present; but one bid had been submitted for furnishing supplies for use of Election Offieers, this being from Wm. G. Johnston Co. of Pittsburgh,, and was accompanied by certified check, as required; bid opened in presence of Count Commissioners and read as follows: Wm. G. Johnston Coos Bid for Supplies,--- 595#35; bids from following concerns, each .a.ccompanied by cer- tified check, as required, oped and read in presence of County Co.ssionerss for printing and delivering to County Commissioners of ballots necessary for Municipal Election of 1931;- Derrick Publishing Co., Oil City, -- 1049000 Observer Publishing Co., Washington- 1250*00 Ward Printing Coo* Washington, -_--- 958*00 Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. _Johnston, that contract for supplies be awarded to Wm, G. Johnston and Barnes; Mr. Walker having notice of meeting, but absent, Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that the County appropriate the sum of Three Hundred (300) Dollars for use of the Union Agricultural Assoei- ations Burgettstowns Pa„ in accordance with the provisions of the Act of Assembly in such case made and provided. Question called for; voting *JLYA" Messrs. Barnes and Johnston, Motion carried ------------------,rr October 12, 1931, Commissioners in regular session, members present being Messrs. Johnston, Walker and Barnes,, Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker, that County Controller be requested to advertise for. bids for delivery of ballots and supplies for Muni- cipal Election of November a, 1931,, to proper election officers of the various toting precints of Washington County. Motion carried. October 12, 1931, Commissioners in regular session, members present teing Messrs. Johnston,, Walker and Barnes. The following Resolution was presented, duly seconded and adopted: -- RESOLVED, That the County of Washington appropriate from current funds one- third (1/3) of the costs, not to exceed 4000 per mile, towards the improvement of that section of highway situate in Blaine Townships starting at a point in Buffalo Creek Road and extending northwestwardly to intersection with the Brush Run Road, a distance of two miles, and known as the Barr Hill Road, in accordance with petition presented to County Commissioners by Supervisors of said Blaine Twp, (SIGNED-) GOUN'T'Y ' GO'MMISSI©NER3 1 1 1
