Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that Leo Maloney
be nominated for position of warrant clerk in office of County Commissioners,
Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker, that Earl Amon be nominated for similar
position. Motion duly made , seconded and carried that nominations close. Veto
taken by Secretary calling the roll resulted as follows; voting for Leo Maloney,
Messrs. Walker and Johnston; voting for Earl Amos, Mr. Barnes, Mr. Maloney declared
elected.
Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Johnston, that John P Curran
be nominated for position of Sealer of Weights and Measures. Motion by Xt. -Sarnes ,
seconded by Mr. Walker, that Paul Clark be nominated for same position. Motion
duly made, seconded and carried that nominations close, Vote taken by Secretary
galling the roll resulted as follows; voting for John F. Curran, Mosers, -Valker an*
Johnston; voting for Paul Clark, Mr. Barnes, Mr. Curran declared elected.
Motion by Mr, Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that Chaney Snginseriag
Company be elected County Engineer. question called for; voting "Aye* Messrs.
Walker, Barnes and Johnston Motion carried and Chaney Engineering Compat 4sclared
elected.
Upon motion duly made, seconded and carried the Board adjourned to
meet with various County Officials an members of salary Boards having to do with
waid,-Iofficials and their offices.

The SALARY BOARD, having to do with salaries for the office of Clerk
of Courts, met in the office of the County Commissioners on Monday, January 7 , 1924,
at 4 P. M. , following 'members being present ; --County Commissioners Johnston, Talker
and Barnes, County Controller Underwood and Clerk of Courts, B. G, McGregir,, Board
organized by electing Mr. J. -B. Johnston Chairman and John G. Hall, Seersta;y,,
Motion by Mr. McGregor, seconded by Mr. Walker, that Ellen Schnsol 'be
appointed Chief Clerk in the office of Clerk of Courts, with power to act as
Clark of Courts. Motion unanimously carried,
Motion by Mr. McGregor, seconded by Mr,. Underwood, that the salary —
of Miss Schneek, as Chief Clerk in the office -of Clerk of Courts, be fixed at $100 . r
per month. Motion unanimously carried. Motion by Mr. Underwood, seconded, by Mr.
Walker, that the Clerk of Courts be permitted to employ, an required, Mr, 'D. Glenn
Moore and an additional clerk to act for him in Court. Motion unani*ously carried,
Motion by Mr. McGregor, seconded by Mr. Underwood, that Mr. -D, Glenn
Moore, employed in accordance with foregoing motion, be paid at rate of $6.00 per
day when thus actually employed, certificate of such employment to be furrrish*d 'by
the Clerk of Courts. Motion unanimously carried,
Motion by Mr. McGregor,, seconded by Mr, Underwood, that an additional
clerk, employed in accordance with foregoing motion, be paid at rat* of $5.00
per day, certificate of such employment to be furnished by the Clerk of Courts,
motion unanimously carried,

BE IT RESOLVED, That all county officers now paid salaries who perform
services for which fees are paid sha:ll be required to demand and collect such fees
iii advance; and, in* order to bring this rule to the attention of attorneys and
others', such officers shall have p.osted in their offices a opies of this resolution.
The SALARY BOARD, having to do with salaries for the office of Prothonotary

11 :15 A. M. , following members being present ; --County Commissioners johnotont
Walker and Barnes, County Controller Underwood and H 3 Pollock,, Prethenot'ary'. Board
organized' by electing Mr. Johnston Chairman and John G. Hall , Secretary,
Motioh by Mr.- Pollock, seconded by Mr. Walker, that the following employees be
retained* in' the office of the Prothonotary for the ensuing year, to-wit; Zrnost T.
McNary, dhief Deputy; Matilda J. Schwartz , Deputy, Russell J, Rigglo, Deputy, Miss
Ruth A Page, Clerk, Motion Unanimously carried.
Motion by Mr. Pollocko secionded by Mr. Wilker, that Yr. McNary bo paid a
salary of $225 per month; that Miss Schwartz be paid a sals.11bof $110 per month;
that Mr, Riggle be paid a salary oi 100 per month; that Rise Ruth A, Page be paid
68,162y of $90 per month. . ' Ouestion called for; voting "Aye" . all meimbere of
Board* for salaries of all excepting Mr. McNary; voting "Aye" o on motion regarding
salaty of Mr. McNary, Messrs. Pollock, Johnston, Walker and Barnes; voting oleo
on motion regarding salary of Mr. McNary, Mr. Underwood. 114tioin carried.
Motion by Mr. Pollock , seconded by Mr. Walker, that he be permitted to take
credit foPthe sum of $4.00 per diem for vach man required to be In Court for
Minute Court or Sessions of Court and if required to employ other tban a member
of his regular office force for such attendance in Court, that* -Such emplay* be paid
by the County of Washington at rate of $4,00 per diem, said sum not to be obargod
against, his office, Amendment *to this motion offered by Xr, Umdarwovd, s000ndod ty
Mr, :9arnes, and carried, that the provisions of thk foregoing notion bo subjoet
to the approval Of the solicitors of *,be County Commissioners =4 Controller
the Court. Motion as amended then
