Commissioners in regular session, all members present, On motion of
Walker seconded by Barnes, the following resolution was adopted,
RESOLVED: That *So the Commissioners of Washington County, Pennsylvania
in regular session assembled on this 22nd 'day of January, A. L. 1924, desiring
f
on behalf of said County to take advantage of the share allotted to our County , do
hereby make application to the Department of Highways for the re-construction or
improvement of roads,f$rst from Stockdale to Coal Center, second, from Washington
E
through west Middletown to Independence, being parts or sections of State Highwazy
E Routes lies. 268 and 242 respectively. do hereby agree for said County that it will
i
pay to the Commonwealth fifty per sent ( 50%) of the total cost and expense of
said improvement, Unanimously carried,

An adjourned meeting of the Salary Board having to do with salaries
of County Employees was held in the office of the County Commissioners, on
Wednesday, January 23 , 1924, at 4 ofcloek P. M. , the following members being
present; County
Commissioners Johnston Walker and Barnes and County Controller
Underwood.
{ Motion by Mr, Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes, that the salary of

Isaac W, Baum, recently elected Solicitor for the offices of County Treasu;er,
Register of Wills, Prothonotary, Recorder, Clerk of Courts and Coronerx_ bee fixed
at $1500 per annum, thersaid sum of $1500 per annum to be a charge of expense
against the said offices in the following proportion: County Treasurer, $400; i
Register of Wills, $300; Prothonotary, $300; Recorder, $200; Clerk of Courtse;, $200
Coroner, $100.
Motion unanimously carried.
