At a meeting of the 11oard of County Commissioners of the G ounty of Washington, in the State of Pennsylvania, duly called and held at the office of said Board of County Commissioners , at the Court house of the said County of Washington, in the City of Washington, Pennsylvania, on the 21st day of April, � I I 1924, all of the members of said board, to-wit , J. E. Johnston, J. W, Walker, � and fit. A. Barnes, being present, the following resolution was on notion duly made and seconded, unanimously adopted by said board, to-wit: i Whereas, by resolution adopted on the 21st day of March 1923, providing for the issue of One Hundred Sixty-five Thousand ( $165,000.00) Dollars of road ' l improvement bonds, no provision was made for the levy of. a tax sufficient to cov*r the peyment of the State tax of four ( 4) mills upon such indebtedness. Meeting of Salary Board having to do with salaries of employees in the office of the County Commissioners met .in the office of -the County -Commissioners on Tuesday, April 29 , 19240 the following members being present; County .Commis- sioners Johnston, Walker and Barnes; County Controller Underwood, Motion by Mr. Walker, seconded by Mr. Barnes that the salary, of Earl Amos, employed as a clerk in the' office of the County Commissioners, be fixed at $125.00 per month, beginning with April 1, 1924. Johnston, Walker and Barnes, Motion by Mr, Barnes, seconded by Mr. Walker,, that the contweet for construction of McMurray Road, #4, be .let to Hardy & Rankin, Canonsburg, at their bid of $74486.85. Carried. Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by fir. Walker, that the contract for construction of McClane Bridge-Meadowlands Road be let to W. K. Reed & Co, : Waynesburg, st their bid of $45474.60.. Carried. Motion by Mr. Barnes, seconded by Walker, that the contract for construction of Houston-McConnellts Mills Road be let to W. K. Reed & CIO* #* Waynesburg, at their bid of $52667-50. • Motion by Mr. Barnes , seconded by Mr. Walker, that the contract for • construction of Hill Church-McMurray Road be let to John Herd, at his bid—of $83509.60, this being the second lowest *bid submitted for this road, but the lowest bidders., Messrs. Hardy & Rankin, already having heavy contracts with the county and other work under construction, is not deemed to. be' in position to c*Vlete this contract during the coming summer, hence the reason for awarding contraot, to Jobe Herd, next lowest bidder, as above set forth. Motion carried.
